Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Stanley Olmen, <br />E. Courtney, Engineer Oonald Lund, Treasurer <br />Worth G, Read (9:55 p.m.>, Building Inspector Clay <br />Kelley, Public Works Supervisor Everett Beecher, Lighting <br />Committee represe9yatlve Larry Brodie, and Assistant <br />C1erk, Administration Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the Regular Counci ~ ~Ieeting of January 12, 1970 <br />were approved as presented. <br /> <br />Village Street Lighting Committee Report <br />Mr. Larry Brodie advised the Counci I that the Street Lighting Com- <br />mittee recommends that 88 lights be instal led at Intersectlomas <br />designated on the map previously submitted; the light recommended <br />Is "Bethel 100" made by Sterner lighting, He said the Committee <br />determined the need for fight~ng at the 88 locations to provide <br />pedestrIan and vehicu~ar safety, after meeting with members of <br />the Public Safety Committee and Lieutenant J. Patrick Sexton of <br />the Village Police Department. <br /> <br />Mr, Brod~e explained that Northern States Power Company is pre- <br />paring a layout and monthly cost proposal for the Vi 11age, using <br />the Bethei ~OO lighting fixture and underground cable. The pro- <br />posal wi II be a lease system probably renewable every 5 years. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Henderson that the Council approve the <br />instal!atlon of street lighting at the 88 locations, as recommend- <br />ed by the Street Lighting Commltte~. pending receipt and acceptance <br />of the lease proposa i bel n9 prepared by Northern STates Powe'r <br />Company; seconde~ by Councilman Olmen; carried unanimously. It <br />was agreed by the Counci I that the previously authorized lighting <br />installed at A~ble Road be defiayed pending the Northern States <br />Power Company report. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />IiIl' <br />'":.",.- <br /> <br />The question of outdoor c,urning in Arden Hi lis was posed. Mayor <br />Crepeau ~dvised that a Committee has ~een established to study the <br />new state legislation; I meeting has been held and a report to <br />the Council wi!1 probably be submitted at the next Council meeting; <br />a report from Attorney Courtney citing the Vi Ilage's responsi- <br />bility and time limitations in providing adequate facilities to <br />effect the required legislation, has also been requested, <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />Ordinance LicensinQ Service Stations <br />Attorney Courtney advised the Counci e that recommendations from <br />the Planning Commission have been incorporated In the ordinance <br />draft. He read the portions which had been re-drafted. After <br />dJscussion and upon Attorney Courtney's recommendation it was <br />determined that I) Section 4, Special Use Permit Regulrements be <br />included in the amendment to The Zoning Ordinance ( rdlnance 99 <br />Section 3D, 17) and defeted from the Service Station Ordinance; <br />2) that Attorney Courtney include in his re-draft of the ordinance <br />the thoughts expressed by the Councl I for limiting the number of <br />stations; 3) that the ordinance be re-referred to the Planning <br />CommiSSion for recommendations on Section 6 (g & h) to determine: <br /> <br />,~. - <br />.- <br />
