CONSENT ITEM - 5B <br />-ARUE_-HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: December 16, 2024 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Jessica Jagoe, Interim City Administrator <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Joint Development Authority (JDA) Chair Appointment <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br />For Council Consideration <br />• Appointing Jonathan Wicklund as the Joint Development Authority (JDA) Chair for a <br />two-year term (2025-2026). <br />Background <br />Per the bylaws of the Joint Development Authority (JDA) that oversees the TCAAP <br />redevelopment project, the City of Arden Hills is responsible for appointing a non -elected <br />member as Chair of the JDA while Ramsey County appoints the Vice Chair. The City -appointed <br />Chair is a two-year position. <br />At its work session on December 9, 2024, the City Council discussed the fact that the current <br />Chair's, Jonathan Wicklund, term would be expiring on December 31, 2024. Chair Wicklund <br />had expressed a desire to continue as the Chair and the City Council considered such. <br />Following Council discussion at the work session, direction was given to Staff to bring the <br />formal appointment of Jonathan Wicklund as the JDA Chair for a two-year term (2025-2026) to <br />a future meeting for Council approval. <br />Budget Impact <br />N/A <br />Attachment <br />N/A <br />Page l of 1 <br />
