ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 03-32: <br />(Administrator) <br /> <br />Appointing Executive Search Firm <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish stated the City Council had agreed to enter into an agreement with <br />Personnel Decisions International (PDI) to assist in the hiring process of a City <br />Administrator/Clerk. <br /> <br />The Council requested staff arrange a meeting with PDI on April 14, 2003 at 5:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Rem moved and Councilmember Grant <br />seconded a motion to extend the meeting until 11 :00 p.rn. The <br />motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Rem <br />seconded a motion to enter into an agreement with Personnel <br />Decisions International (PDI) to assist in the hiring process of <br />the City Administrator/Clerk. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson asked what the estimated cost of hiring PDI was and if <br />they were going to leave it open-ended. <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish stated if it exceeded $20,000 they would come back to Council for <br />additional funds. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated he would be opposing this motion because of the <br />cost, and he did not believe this was not a good way to spend taxpayer dollars. He <br />stated he was willing to go through resumes as they had done in the past, but not <br />hire a search firm. He also stated they had an active City Administrator who was <br />capable of doing this job and the position could be offered to someone on their <br />own staff who was well qualified. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded <br />a motion to amend that the cost for Personnel Decisions <br />International (PDI) is not to exceed $20,000. The motion <br />carried unanimously (5-0). <br />
