PUBLIC INQUlRIES/INFORMATIONAL <br /> <br />Mary Ann Lindberg, 1695 Brueberry Lane, expressed concern regarding the <br />closure of the Arden Hills Library, She stated the library was very important to <br />the residents, She indicated many residents of the City had worked hard to <br />support the library and the continuing education the library offered. She requested <br />the City support a campaign to save the library. She indicated the existing library <br />should not be closed until the new library was opened, She stated her husband <br />was the current President of the Friends of Ramsey County Library and they could <br />be reached at 651-633-7349. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem suggested Mrs, Lindberg prepare handouts regarding any <br />meetings and where the residents could write or call to express their concern about <br />the library closing, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden requested Mrs. Lindberg leave the information with the <br />Council, and she would see ifit could be included the City Newsletter, <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested staff prepare a resolution from the City <br />expressing its concern regarding the library closure, <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant agreed with Councilmember Larson's suggestion and <br />wanted to encourage the County Commissioners to leave the library open until the <br />future of the new library could be assured, <br /> <br />Mr. Lindberg, 1695 Brueberry Lane, stated they had just completed giving <br />away and disposing of the books that were in the No, St. Paul Library, which had <br />closed. He stated they disposed of approximately 30,000 books, He requested this <br />not happen to the Arden Hills library. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated it made sense not to close the existing library until <br />the new library was built. <br /> <br />.
