<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 28, 2003 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />CounciImember Rem requested staff determine that a resolution was not <br />duplicative of the previous resolution, <br /> <br />Mayor Aplikowski welcomed members of Boy Scout Troop 186, <br /> <br />Drew Erickson, Roseville, stated they were from Ivy Middle School and were <br />working on their communication badges, <br /> <br />Matt DeVair, Roseville, introduced himself. <br /> <br />Paul Butler, Arden Hills, introduced himself. <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />None, <br /> <br />6. COMMUNITY SERVICES <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Planning Case No. 03-16: Dobratz Variance <br /> <br />Mr. Hellegers stated the applicant was requesting an 18-foot variance from the <br />rear yard setback. He noted the variance would allow construction of a 6-foot <br />addition to the current deck and allow the applicants to construct a pergola, which <br />would have removable screens to provide a bug-free area on their deck. The <br />proposed deck, with extension, would bring the deck to within twelve feet of the <br />southern property line, The southern property line abutted a heavily wooded area <br />on the northern edge of Floral Park, which was approximately 29 feet deep. <br /> <br />Mr. Hellegers further stated the Planning Commission recommended that the <br />variance request of eighteen (18) feet for the minimum rear setback be approved as <br />submitted. He noted a condition was recommended that all necessary applications <br />for building permits should be filed with the City Building official for approval <br />prior to the issuance of a building permit. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember <br />Holden seconded a motion to approve Planning Case No. <br />03-16: David and Martha Dobratz, 1440 Indian Oaks <br />
