It <br /> was the opinion of several Councilmembers that they would prefer the Council as <br /> a whole to proceed with this application, then revise the ordinance. <br /> Staff was directed to include amendment of this ordinance, pending City Attorney <br /> review, on the April 24, 2000 regular City Council Agenda for consideration. <br /> Staff was further directed to provide notice to St. Katherine's regarding City <br /> Council intentions for Ordinance amendment, and the concerns of the City <br /> Council and need for compliance with trade area requirements. <br /> MOUNDS VIEW HIGH SCHOOL. WATER LINE EXTENSION <br /> Public Works Director Stafford reviewed a request from the Mounds View High <br /> School, as part of thcir upcoming Planning Case, for a proposed City cost <br /> participation for a 12-inch service connection to the Gramsie Road watermain. <br /> After discussion, it was staff s recommendation that, in all scenarios, the City <br /> Council stipulate that the School District maintain ownership and maintenance <br /> responsibilities of any water lines within the Mounds View High School property <br /> line. <br /> . It appeared to be the consensus of the City Council that they would be in favor of <br /> cost participation for installation up to the property line. Staff was directed to <br /> proceed in conversations with the School District, and further requested that the <br /> School District provide a formal request to the City for this water line cost <br /> participation. <br /> WATER OUALITY TASK FORCE <br /> Councilmember Larson introduced Mr. Roger Aiken, Chair of the City's Water <br /> Quality Task Force. Mr. Aiken introduced those Task Force members present: <br /> Andy Holewa; Caroline Gilbert; Dave Ford; Bryan Anderson; Jeanne Winiecki; <br /> and Michelle Hanson ofthe Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD). <br /> Mr. Aiken presented a list offour (4) draft goals prepared by the Task Force for <br /> Council consideration. <br /> 1) Water resources and features are an important contribution to a high <br /> quality of lifc and to the tax base of the community. Lakes, wetlands, and <br /> other water fcatures should be improved at every opportunity. <br /> 2) Arden Hills contributes and receives waters from the Rice Creek <br /> . Watershed District.
