<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - SEPTEMBER 11, 2000 <br /> <br />35 <br /> <br />With regard to the status of the new City Hall, Mr. Lynch stated that he has spoken with <br />Commander's Representative Mike Fix who confirmed that the City will have documentation the <br />week of Septembcr 25, 2000. Mr. Lynch had informed Mr. Fix that the City has scheduled the <br />groundbreaking ceremony for that week. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst suggested that the groundbreaking ceremony be rescheduled for the following <br />weekend, subject to availability of the facilities. Councilmember Larson stated that he would be <br />out of town that weekend. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst suggested that City Staff invite past Councilmembers and City Mayors to the <br />groundbreaking ceremony. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch reported that vandalism has occurred on the contractor's equipment at the Bethel <br />College athletic site. He stated that eight windows had been broken on two separate vehieles and <br />the first set of survey stakes, ineluding the hubs, had been removed. This resulted in the <br />contractor having to re-survey the property which may cost an additional $5,000 to $7,000. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Couneilmember Larson stated that at the last Planning Commission meeting, the Commission <br />approved an amendment to Gateway's PUD to place additional equipment and screening in their <br />rear parking lot, a variance at Karth Lake of which the City Staff had recommended denial, and <br />reviewed and denied a Home Occupation Special Usc Permit for a resident on New Brighton <br />Road who runs a flooring company. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that NYFS will be holding a murder mystery fund raiser. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that NYFS will be holding a Board meeting on Thursday, September <br />14,2000 at 7:00 a.m. She indicated that NYFS has been approved for a two-year grant for the <br />McKnight FOlmdation community project targeting violence prevention. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that RAB will begin meeting bi-month1y rather than monthly and <br />that they are still looking for new members. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that the I-35W Corridor Coalition will meet on Wednesday, September 13, <br />2000 at the Family Services Center in New Brighton. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst asked that Staff provide the City Council with an update at a future Council <br />worksession on the issues surrounding the Arsenal property. <br />
