<br /> ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - OCTOBER 30, 2000 6 <br /> Councilmember Larson asked whether the ordinance amendments with regard to accessory <br /> . structures would apply to this PUD amendment, Ms. Chaput stated that if the amendment is <br /> made prior to the ordinance changes, it would be allowed, She added that new requests would be <br /> subject to the current ordinance, <br /> Councilmember Larson stated he is unsure whether the limitation on accessory buildings would <br /> apply to a PUD as it is not part of the master plan. Ms. Chaput agreed, stating that the PUD <br /> process allows some flexibility and the limitation may not apply. <br /> An unidentified representative of North Heights Church, asked whether a building permit could <br /> be picked up the next morning. Mr. Lynch stated an electrical permit must be processed by <br /> another inspector and may take a few days. <br /> B. Pay Request #8, Forest Lake Contracting, West Round Lake Road (Phase 1) <br /> Nick Landwehr, BRW, Inc., stated he is presenting Pay Request #8, Forest Lake Contracting, <br /> West Round Lake Road, in the absence of City Engineer Greg Brown, He added that the City <br /> awarded Forest Lake Contracting, Inc, the West Round Lake Road Improvements Phase I on <br /> March 8, 1999 for a total contract amount of $794,725.05. <br /> Mr. Landwehr stated the Council approved Change Order #1 on April 12, 1999 reducing the <br /> contract amount to 726,725,05, and Change Order #2 on August 9, 1999 increasing the contract <br /> . amount to $806,080.05. He added that Change Order #3 was approved by the Council on July <br /> 31, 2000 increasing the contract amount by $8,198,58 to $814,278.63, <br /> Mr. Landwehr stated the contractor has finished the project. He added that Pay Estimate #8 <br /> reflects payment in full for all contract items except landscaping material. He noted that final <br /> payment will be made next spring after all landscaping material has been inspected and approved <br /> by the Project Engineer. <br /> Mr. Landwehr stated that the City Engineer recommends approval of Pay Estimate #8 for Forest <br /> Lake Contracting, Inc., of Forest Lake, Minnesota, in the amount of$48,965.42. A retain age of <br /> 0,52% is being held which reflects a 10% retainage on landscaping items to be inspected next <br /> spnng. <br /> Mayor Probst stated that some repairs had been completed recently, and asked whether staff were <br /> satisfied with the result. Mr. Lynch stated the repairs are not completely satisfactory but will be <br /> redone when the remaining portion of the road is widened and the grade is changed. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a motion <br /> to approve Pay Estimate #8 for Forest Lake Contracting, Inc., of Forest Lake, <br /> Minnesota, in the amount 01'$48,965.42, with a retainage of 0.52%. The motion <br /> carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> . <br />
