He <br />does not feel that the "peninsula" should necessarily be eliminated; <br />he would like to contact Ramsey County regarding the land acquisition <br />status, and the Village Parks and Recreation Committee regarding the <br />recreation building question, and, because of Crichton's and Hollen- <br />'horst's questions,moved that the matter be tabled, seconded by Crichton; <br />motion carried unanimOUSly. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Gustafson was requested to resolve as many problems as posslbleoby <br />the next Council meeting on August 13, <br />(Hollenhorst left meeting.) <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN CHARLES CRICHTON - Finance and Ordinance Revelw <br /> <br />Federal Revenue SharinQ - Fourth Entitlement Period <br /> <br />Crichton distributed and reviewed a Federal Revenue Sharing Chart <br />for Councl I consideration. C. McNlesh was requested to send In the <br />September I, 1973, Actual Usage Report, showing "zero" expenditures <br />through June 30, 1973. <br /> <br />Herrick asked If the Finance Committee has considered the use of <br />Revenue Sharing monies to redUCe the mill rate. <br /> <br />Crichton said not specifically yet; the Committee has discussed <br />possible ways of usIng the money. Next month the Committee will <br />receive the planned budget for 1974, and,at that time, will have to <br />consider this revenue and other revenues to try to determine how It <br />can best be used. <br /> <br />Gas Regulatory Board <br /> <br />Crichton said that after reviewing a report from E. G. Henderson <br />(July 12, 1973), he would hesitate to recommend that Arden Hills <br />Join the Board at this time. <br /> <br />MeetlnQ Regarding 1973 Contract with Union Emplovees <br /> <br />Crichton reported that the union members did not sign the 1973 con- <br />tract; consequently, two sections (8.1 and 9.1'> have been alll8nded <br />(as attached), <br /> <br />After review and discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Olmen, that <br />the Counci I approve the contract as amended; motion carried unanlmo'JS:Y. <br /> <br />1974 Union Contract <br /> <br />Crichton discussed his memo regarding 1974 union contract proposals, <br />and moved that the Council approve the 1974 contract proposal. Motion <br />was seconded by Herrick, who stated that It is understood the approval <br />is void, if any changes are made in the proposal; motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCIL~AN STAN OLMEN - Public Works <br /> <br />Bethel Master Meter <br /> <br />Olmen advised that the Public Works Committee will consider the Bethel <br />master meter proposal at Its next meeting. <br /> <br />Pemtom Development <br /> <br />Olmen reported that the Public Works Committee obJects to islands <br />in the center of the cul-de-sac roads, such as installed in the <br />Pemtom development. He requested that no more cul-de-sac Islands <br />be permitted In this. or future developme~ts in the Village. <br /> <br />-10- <br />
