Abate!\lent of Assessen!: referred to C. McNieah to obtain <br />figures for Committee consideration re specific case at hend. <br /> <br />2. Insurance - looking into coverage for volunteers. <br /> <br />3. ~uckley Insurance Request - The Committee recOlllllends that the <br />Counc:J.l not allo>1 Hr. Buckley's request for outside insurance <br />coverage reimbureement because of the precedent it would e8t. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by 01men, that the Council concur with the Pinance <br />COilll\\ittee'a recoamendation to not approve the request. Motion carried. (Crepeau, <br />Hollenhorst, Olmen, Crichton votil18 ill favor of the motion, and Herrick abstained.) <br />(Mr. CrichtoDsaid that no specific ex~.1usion8 were discussed.) <br /> <br />Metro Leap;ue <br /> <br />Councilman Crichton reported that the Metro League has asked that membership <br />dues be paid as early as possible; Arden Hills' dues this year are $592.00. <br /> <br />After discussion. the Counc~l agreed to defer payment of du~~ until actual benefits <br />to the Village can be evaluated. <br /> <br />Bud&!!...Gu:l.delines <br /> <br />A memorandum, dated June 22, 1973, prepared by C. McNies", was reviewed by Crichton. <br />He requested that the guidelines be used by the various departments in preparing <br />budget proposals for 1974. <br /> <br />Purchase Considerat~ <br /> <br />Councilman Crichton expressed a need for 3 transparency projector and micrcpnoDee <br />for us~ at Council and Committee me~ti"gs, acd asked that these items be considered <br />as ?ossible budget items for. next yesr. <br /> <br />Mr. Crichton agreed to research coses and models for consideration by the Council. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILlWl STAN OLMEN - Public Works <br /> <br />G1eaardan Road Pond. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />01men l-eported that the PubHc Works CorlUllittee recommends that. the pond be checked <br />for health and safety hazards; Council noted that maintenance of the pond is a <br />private matter to.be handled by the property owner. <br /> <br />Valentine Park Drainage Ditch <br /> <br />.In .diacU8sion of the status of the drainage ditch proposed at Valentine Park, <br />Eollenhorst asked vhy hourly rates, rather than job quotes, were obtained. O~n <br />explained that only a portion of the job is to be contracted; the balance is to <br />be done by Village personnel. <br /> <br />After discussion, the Council agreed that the work should he started as soon as <br />possible, and Olmen said the project will proceed using the bids which have been <br />l.ccei....ed. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
