I requested the Pub Ilc Safety CommIttee to submit projections <br />of the quantity and grade of gasoline needed for the next year or two <br />so that the Public Works Committee can determine the sIze of tenks <br />and the number of pumps and tanks that will be needed. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />July31,1972 <br /> <br />DralnaQ6 - Valentine Park and Glenvlew Avenue <br /> <br />The Council concurred wIth recommendation of the Public Works Com- <br />mIttee to ask the Parks.and RecreaTion for theIr recommendatIons for <br />the drainage of ValentIne Park and Glenvlew Avenue. <br /> <br />. VI.llage Equipment Needs <br /> <br />The Council asked the PublIc Works SuperIntendent to submIt a report <br />listIng his equIpment needs for plowIng Village streets for the <br />coming winter season. <br /> <br />They also asked that the Parks and RecreatIon Department submIt the <br />same type report, listIng vehIcle and equipment needs for perks and <br />rInks. <br /> <br />PolIce Department Vehicles <br /> <br />The Council asked that Pub II c Safety be asked what the status (owned <br />or leased) of their vehicles Is and what new purchases are anticipated <br />In the near future and whether vehicles will be available to Public <br />Works. . <br /> <br />StoraQe BulldlnQ. New BrlQhton Road <br /> <br />The Council asked the Public Safety Committee to explore possibIlities <br />of different use of the Village owned storage building at 3242 New <br />Brighton Road. A possible recreation use or teen center was dIs- <br />cussed. They noted that the property provides the only access to <br />the Village owned pond aree previously bought from Mr. Pllgren. They <br />asked Public Safety to contact the Public Works Committee on the matter. <br /> <br />St reet L I !lhts <br /> <br />Recommendations of the Public Works CommIttee, dated July 25, 1972, <br />were reviewed by Mr. Reiling. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator reported a new request tor a /lght at New Brighton <br />Road and Noble Road. <br /> <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br /> <br />Public Works Superintendent <br /> <br />Motion was made by Henderson, seconded by Hollenhorst, that the' <br />s81~ry of Public Works SuperIntendent Bud Johansen be Increased to <br />$8,000 per month, effective August I, 1972; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Grey Fox Road and Dunlap Street <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator WaS asked to contact Attorney Courtney and see <br />If the.twQ Industrial streets can be brought up to standard by Roberts <br />Construction Co. and dedicated to the Village before the comlnp winter <br />season. <br /> <br />Counc1lrna~ HII lenhorst reported he felt we should Initiate action <br />to take charge of the streets, bring them up to acceptable standards <br />and assess the cost against the adjoining property owners. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNC I Lt.'AN ROtMLD IIERR I CK <br /> <br />Absent.
