. MINUTES CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 7, 1999,5:00 P.M. CITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order a Special City Council meeting at 5:07 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to review and consider action on a construction contract for the purposed City Hall facility. Present: Mayor Dennis Probst, Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Paul Malone, and Lois Rem Absent: Councilmember Gregg Larson Also present were: City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger; City Accountant, Terrance Post; and Administrative Secretary, Sheila Stowell. . ADOPT AGENDA MOTION: Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a motion to adopt the agenda for the June 7, 1999, special City Council meeting. The motion carried unanimously (4-0), CITY HALL CONSTRUCTION BID CONSIDERATION City Administrator Fritsinger provided a brief overview of the requested action by the Council, stating that the ninety (90) day window since the receipt of bids, was set to expire on June 9, 1999. Mr. Fritsinger stated that he had been in weekly contact with Rochon Corporation, and the contractor remained very receptive to working with the City and had spent considerable time in working with the project subcontractors in continuing to honor their bids. A bench handout was provided, in the form of a letter dated May 24, 1999 from Mr. Robert S. Dew, Project Manager, with Rochon Corporation; and a letter dated May 28, 1999 from Mr. Peter Vesterholt of Architectural Alliance, outlining approximate additional costs that would be incurred in rejecting bids at this time, or costs for temporary heat and protection of materials during winter construction ofthe shell, if the bid period were extended through August 1, 1999. .
