<br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />JUNE 7, 1999,5:00 P.M. <br />CITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order a Special <br />City Council meeting at 5:07 p.m. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting was to review and consider action on a construction contract <br />for the purposed City Hall facility. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Dennis Probst, Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Paul <br />Malone, and Lois Rem <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregg Larson <br /> <br />Also present were: City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger; City Accountant, Terrance Post; <br />and Administrative Secretary, Sheila Stowell. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a <br />motion to adopt the agenda for the June 7, 1999, special City Council <br />meeting. The motion carried unanimously (4-0), <br /> <br />CITY HALL CONSTRUCTION BID CONSIDERATION <br />City Administrator Fritsinger provided a brief overview of the requested action by the <br />Council, stating that the ninety (90) day window since the receipt of bids, was set to <br />expire on June 9, 1999. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated that he had been in weekly contact with Rochon Corporation, and <br />the contractor remained very receptive to working with the City and had spent <br />considerable time in working with the project subcontractors in continuing to honor their <br />bids. A bench handout was provided, in the form of a letter dated May 24, 1999 from <br />Mr. Robert S. Dew, Project Manager, with Rochon Corporation; and a letter dated May <br />28, 1999 from Mr. Peter Vesterholt of Architectural Alliance, outlining approximate <br />additional costs that would be incurred in rejecting bids at this time, or costs for <br />temporary heat and protection of materials during winter construction ofthe shell, if the <br />bid period were extended through August 1, 1999. <br /> <br />. <br />
