<br />subject to the conditions of ARTICLE XVI, "PROBATIONARY PERIODS". <br /> <br />18.3 The EMPLOYER has the right of final decision in the selection of employees to fill <br />posted jobs based on qualifications, abilities, and experience. <br /> <br />18.4 Job vacancies within the designated bargaining unit will be posted for five (5) work days so <br />that members of the bargaining unit can be considered for such vacancies. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XIX - PERSONAL TIME OFF CONVERSION <br /> <br />19.1 All employees hired before June 29, 2002, will convert their current sick leave accrued <br />hours to Personal Time Off (PTO). The conversion will be calculated by adding current <br />accrued sick leave and current accrued vacation and subtracting two hundred forty hours <br />(240) as PTO. The remainder of the sick leave will be added to the "Bank". "Bank" is <br />defined as accrued hours which may be used only when the employee qualifies under Short <br />Term Disability, Long-Term Disability or when accrued PTO is exhausted. For allowed <br />accruals over the maximum refer to Article XXI, section 21.3. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XX - FUNERAL LEAVE <br /> <br />20.1 Each employee shall be entitled to three (3) paid days of funeral leave for a death in the <br />immediate family of the employee. <br /> <br />20.2 "Immediate family" shall mean an employee's spouse, children, siblings, parents, <br />grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, in-laws or grandchildren. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XXI - PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO) <br /> <br />21.1 Personal Time Off (PTO) is authorized absence from duty. <br /> <br />Employees working an average of 40 hours per week on an annual basis are eligible for <br />Personal Time Off. Employees may not use Personal Time Off until successful completion <br />of their probationary period although Personal Time Off accumulates during this time. <br /> <br />The following chart provides information regarding Personal Time Off. Years of service <br />are calculated from the anniversary date of employment. <br /> <br /> <br />PERSONAL TIME OFF SCHEDULE FOR EMPLOYEES HIRED PRIOR TO <br />JANUARY 1, 2020: <br />Completed years of Service Personal Time <br /> <br />0-5 years 7 hours bi-weekly <br />6-10 years 9 hours bi-weekly <br />After 10 years 10 hours bi-weekly
