2 <br /> <br /> <br />Assists the Public Works Director with reviewing, recommending, and managing park maintenance expenditures. <br /> <br />Manages City forestry activities with the Public Works Superintendent, including tree inventory, inspections, <br />maintenance, diseased tree control and abatements. Recommends updated policies and ordinances related to <br />City forestry as necessary. <br /> <br />Responsible for Natural Resources Management as it relates to City Open Space, rain garden program, water <br />resources (Ponds, Lakes, Wetlands, etc.), invasive species control, ecological restoration and preservation <br />projects, and MS4 Permit where applicable. <br /> <br />Seeks out grant opportunities to help fund objectives and coordinate with the Public Works Director on grant <br />applications. <br />Collaborates with private businesses and other cities for community planning. <br /> <br />Oversees prepared information for instructors, class lists, emergency procedures and building use policies. <br /> <br />Oversees the preparation of scheduled activities on fields/parks for maintenance, special equipment or set up. <br /> <br />Leads public engagement efforts for Parks & Recreation such as open-house events, surveys, promotional <br />events, etc. <br /> <br />Responsible for developing and recommending new Parks & Recreation programs for future community needs. <br /> <br />Responsible for updating City Parks related maps, inventories, signage, brochures, registration information, <br />webpage content and general department information. <br /> <br />Provides information to the Senior Communications Coordinator, Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee and <br />the public. <br /> <br />Coordinates volunteer groups and donation program for Parks and Recreation programs. <br /> <br />Attends and presents to City Council and other meetings as appropriate or as directed. <br /> <br />Serves as staff liaison to the PTRC. <br /> <br />Coordinates with community leaders and groups on parks and recreation programs. <br /> <br />Keeps the Public Works Director informed of any issues and concerns in the department. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />Bachelor's degree with coursework in parks management, recreation, or related field and considerable <br />experience in youth/adult recreational activities, parks and trails development and maintenance, or equivalent <br />combination of education and experience. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
