Comprehensive Recycling Services Contract <br />Approval <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Estimated Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Authorize the Interim City Administrator, Mayor, and City Attorney to enter into a <br />contract with Walters Recycling and Refuse, Inc. for Residential Recycling Services for a <br />five year period from May 5, 2025 to May 4, 2030. <br /> <br />Background The City of Arden Hills has contracted for curbside recycling service since 1992, for single <br />family, duplex, triplex and fourplex Residential Dwelling Units (RDUs). The current contract <br />with Republic Services ends on May 4, 2025 and Republic Services notified the City that it <br />would not extend the current contract. <br /> <br />A Request for Proposals (RFP) for residential recycling services was released by the City in <br />September of 2024. Proposals submitted were carefully evaluated by the review committee based <br />on the criteria outlined in the RFP. The final analysis indicated that Walters Recycling and <br />Refuse, Inc. had the best price for the services requested, relative to the recycling needs of the <br />City and its residents. <br /> <br />The new contract will continue to provide recycling services to the majority of residential units <br />in the City with the exception of Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) which are apartment and <br />condominium complexes including: Cottage Villas, Hunters Park Condos, Parkshore <br />Apartments, Arden Manor, E Street Flats, Arden Flats, Johanna Shores, New Perspectives and <br />CONSENT ITEM – 8B <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
