CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MN <br />CONTRACT FOR THE COLLECTION OF RESIDENTIAL RECYCLABLE MATERIALS Page 5 <br />Electronic Waste Any discarded consumer electronic device with a circuit board <br />including (but not limited to): televisions, computers, laptops, <br />tablets, computer monitors, peripherals (e.g., keyboard, printer, <br />mouse, etc.), cell phones, PDAs, DVD recorders/players and video <br />cassette recorders/players, and fax machines. <br /> <br />HDPE Plastic bottles and non-bottle plastic containers made <br />from high-density polyethylene resin. <br /> <br />Holidays New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, <br />Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. <br /> <br />Market Any person or company that buys (or charges) for recycling of <br />specified materials and may include, but is not limited to: end- <br />markets, intermediate processors, brokers and other recycling <br />material reclaimers. <br /> <br />Materials Recovery <br />Facility (MRF) <br />A facility in which recyclable materials are processed. The facility <br />must conform to all applicable rules, regulations and laws of state, <br />local or other jurisdictions. <br /> <br />Multi-Dwelling Units <br />(MDUs) <br />A building or a portion thereof containing five or more <br />dwelling units. <br /> <br />Multi-Dwelling Unit <br />(MDU) Recycling <br />Containers <br />Recycling containers used for multi-dwelling units (MDUs) <br />including any cart, dumpster or other receptacle for temporary <br />storage and collection of designated recyclables from residents in <br />MDUs prior to collection. <br /> <br />Multi-Dwelling Unit <br />(MDU) Recycling Service <br />Recycling collection service, together with related public <br />education and customer services. <br /> <br />Non-Targeted Materials Materials that are not included in the City’s recycling <br />program. Examples of typical non-targeted items currently <br />include (but are not limited to): pumps on plastic bottles, <br />ceramic material, etc. <br /> <br />Organics Shall have the meaning set forth in Minnesota Statutes and <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Rules for materials that: <br />(1) are separated at the source by waste generators for the <br />purpose of preparing them for use as compost; (2) are <br />collected separately from mixed municipal solid waste; and <br />(3) are comprised of food waste, fish and animal waste, plant <br />materials, and paper that is not recyclable. <br /> <br />Paper Products Paper includes the following: newspapers including inserts <br />(ONP); household office paper and mail; boxboard; carrier <br />stock cardboard; old corrugated cardboard (OCC) including
