• Water
o Water main was installed as part of the surrounding developments with 6-inch, 8-
inch, and 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP).
o 515-feet of 6-inch watermain that serves 6 properties along Hwy-96 is proposed
for replacement. This segment has a history of main breaks that would indicate
poor condition of pipe.
o Through recent inspections Public Works has identified a few hydrants and valves
to replace which were not included in the initial estimate.
o The installation of an additional hydrant along Amble Dr. is proposed.
• Storm Drainage
o Storm catch basin and manhole structures that are deteriorating and need repair
have been identified by Public Works.
o Retaining wall rehab near outlet pump (RCWD Grant eligible)
o BMP-Phase 2 – surface water treatment from Cummings Park and adjacent
property (RCWD Grant eligible)
o Grit chamber improvement proposed for drainage from Karth Lake Circle
(RCWD Grant eligible)
o Storm sewer pipe televising identified spot repairs but overall good condition.
o Dredging of formed deltas is proposed around outlet locations that discharge into
Karth Lake, actual amount of sediment to be removed will be evaluated.
o Curb and gutter is generally in good condition but spot replacement will be
needed in some areas.
Additional research regarding the age and condition of existing infrastructure will be evaluated
during preparation of the feasibility report.
Preliminary Project Budget
From the 2025-2029 CIP, the initial cost estimate is summarized in the following table and will
be revised as part of the feasibility report. This estimate includes the anticipated costs for
engineering design, surveying, and construction administration as a 27% contingency, which is
consistent with previous PMP projects since 2021.

* Initial estimate subject to revisions during the feasibility study

Category

CIP Budget
Streets
$1,720,000
Storm Drainage
$500,000
Sanitary Sewer

$145,000
Water Utility
$120,000
TOTAL
$2,485,000
