Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Lift Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation Project – Award Construction Contract <br />and Materials Testing Services <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $910,000 (Forcemain) $991,567.50 Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund <br /> $130,000 (Pumps and Valves) <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Resolution 2025-027 Accepting Bid and Awarding the Construction Contract with <br />New Look Contracting, Inc. for the Lift Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation Project in <br />the amount of $729,901.50. <br />• Proposal from Braun Intertec, Inc. to provide construction testing services for the Lift <br />Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation Project in the amount of $10,582. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Pursuant Resolution 2025-014 adopted by City Council on February 10, 2025, City staff initiated <br />bid advertisement for the Lift Station 5 Forcemain Rehabilitation project. A total of six bids <br />were received on February 27, 2025. Bolton & Menk has provided a recommendation letter <br />along with the bid tab as Attachment A. Resolution 2025-027 will accept the bids and award the <br />construction contract with New Look Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $729,901.50. <br />New Look Contracting has a good reputation for successfully completing public works projects. <br />Staff has reviewed the bid and investigated New Look Contracting’s ability to complete the <br />project along with their proposed subcontractors. Staff recommends approving Resolution 2025- <br />027. <br /> <br />
