Inc. $749,908.51 <br />4 Northdale Construction Company, Inc. $763,251.07 <br />5 Pember Companies, Inc. $878,554.50 <br />6 Meyer Contracting Inc. $898,418.54 <br />The engineer’s estimate was $890,000 <br /> <br />New Look Contracting, Inc. provided the low responsible bid with $729,901.50. The price appears to be <br />of good value as we received six bids and the low bid was favorable compared to the engineer’s <br />estimate. New Look Contracting has a good reputation for successfully completing public works <br />projects. We have reviewed the bid and investigated New Look Contracting’s ability to complete the <br />project. They are utilizing subcontractors for some key project elements including the trenchless <br />forcemain installation, and sewer bypassing. The identified trenchless pipe installer subcontractor for <br />this project has been identified as Subsurface Construction, Inc. They have successfully completed <br />several projects with similar characteristics. The sewer byassing is proposed to be completed by <br />Northern Dewatering who is an industry leader in this type of work. New Look Contracting is proposing <br />to complete a majority of the remaining work including the lift station modifications; they have <br />completed this type of work successfully in the past. From our research and industry understanding, <br />New Look Contracting and key subcontractors are all suitable and experienced at completing their <br />respective work scope. <br /> <br />Given that the price appears to be of good value and New Look Contracting and their subcontractor(s) <br />appear to be experienced and qualified to complete the work, we recommend that the City of Arden
