2 <br /> <br />Assist in coordinating the communications effort surrounding large projects, specifically, the TCAAP redevelopment <br />project while working with outside parties (other government agencies, real estate development firms, etc.) to ensure <br />a clear and consistent message is presented by the City. <br /> <br />Perform intermediate professional work in the coordination and oversight of grant projects and programs. Maintain <br />accurate records and assist in submittal of timely reports. <br /> <br />Researches grant applications availability and assists in securing and sustaining funding. Must work closely with <br />Department Heads. <br /> <br />Manage the City’s social media presence. <br /> <br />Other duties as assigned. <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />Bachelor's degree with coursework in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration or <br />equivalent combination of education and experience. <br /> <br />Minimum of three to five years experience in a communications role. <br /> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of the modern principles, practices, and methods involved in planning and implementing a <br />communications program. Practical knowledge of information dissemination, graphic design, and media creation, <br />such as, press releases, internal memos, and content layout. Skilled in desktop publishing, modern office <br />equipment, web maintenance, and related software. Excellent writing skills. The ability to collaborate with other <br />departments and take the lead on special projects. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, using hands <br />to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally requires <br />standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision <br />requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; <br />hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing <br />written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no <br />exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light <br />traffic). <br /> <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Valid driver's license. <br /> <br />SELECTION GUIDELINES <br />Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may be <br />required.
