ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - OCTOBER 12, 1999 4
. Fernwood Court between Ingerson Road and the cul-de-sac to the south;
. . Carlton Drive between Tiller Lane and Tiller Lane;
. Cannon Avenue between Dunlap Street and Hamline Avenue.
Mr. Stafford stated that the entire scope of work will depend upon funding sources and the
various options that the City may elect to proceed with. These options include items such as
possible cul-de-sacs and elimination of certain segments of roadway.
Mr. Stafford advised that staff recommends the City Council adopt Resolution #99-35, Ordering
a Preliminary Feasibility Report in the matter of the 2000 Street Improvement Project.
With regard to the list of streets proposed to be considered for improvements in the Resolution,
Mayor Probst asked if Carlton Drive between Tiller Lane and Tiller Lane needs to be corrected.
Mr. Stafford stated that this information in the Resolution was correct as submitted because of
the "U" shape of this street.
Mayor Probst noted tl1at the Resolution did not mention the abandonment of the portion of
frontage road. He asked if this would be included in tile Feasibility Study. Mr. Stafford stated
that this frontage road abandonment will be included in the Feasibility Study.
Mr. Post noted a typing error in the proposed Resolution. The Resolution number should be #99-
35, not #99-56.
. With regard to the construction of a storm water treatment pond near Trunk Highway 51,
Councilmember Larson asked if this treatment pond would essentially deal with tl1e run-off for
all of the streets within the improvement project. Mr. Brown stated that this treatment pond will
deal with as much run-off as possible.
With the proposed abandonment of the street, Mayor Probst asked if it was possible for the storm
water treatment pond to be located in this area. Mr. Brown stated that this would be an ideal
location.
MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Malone seconded a motion to
adopt Resolution #99-35, Ordering a Preliminary Feasibility Report in the matter
of the 2000 Street Improvement Project. The motion carried unanimously (5-0).
B. Payment Request #6, Forest Lake Contracting, West Round Lake Road, Phase I
Mr. Brown explained that the City Council had before it pay request #6 for Forest Lake
Contracting for work accomplished to date on the West Round Lake Road, Phase I project. This
pay request included payment for signal installation, signage, striping and other miscellaneous
work completed through September 30,1999. BRW and City staff have conducted a walk
through inspection of the project and have provided a final punch list of items for the Contractor
. to complete.
