<br /> ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - OCTOBER 12, 1999 8 <br />. With regard to the acquisition of the lndykiewicz parcel at Round Lake Road, Phase I, Mr. Post <br /> stated that the City of Arden Hills has made an offer to Mr. lndykiewicz for the dirt inventory. <br /> Mr. lndykiewicz and his attorney have questioned the quantity calculation of the cubic yards of <br /> black dirt. Mr. lndykiewicz's opinion was that if the fill were processed there would be more <br /> yards. Per the original purchase agreement, a remedy exists if agreement on this issue cannot be <br /> reached. Therefore, both parties will be obligated to go to binding arbitration in the near future. <br /> Mr. Post stated that the City staff had recently received a draft copy of the City of New Brighton <br /> Comprehensive Plan. The City of Arden Hills has been asked to review the Comprehensive Plan <br /> and submit any comments to the City of New Brigbton before the middle of November, 1999. <br /> Mr. Post stated that copies of this Comprebensive Plan would be made available to the City <br /> Council if they wished to review it. <br /> Mr. Post stated that the status of the Old Highway 10 water main had been raised by one of the <br /> Councilmembers during a conversation. Mr. Post indicated that City staff was awaiting data <br /> from City Engineer Brown prior to conducting an information hearing to identify what potential <br /> special assessments may be. Mr. Post anticipated that preliminary assessment information would <br /> be mailed in the near future. <br /> Mr. Post stated that the Highways 96/10 discussion had been tentatively planned as an agenda <br /> item for the next Council W orksession. If there is a consensus among the Councilmembers, the <br />. item will be brought to the October 25, 1999 Council meeting with a recommendation to be <br /> forwarded to Ramsey County. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE LIAISON ACTIVITY REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Larson stated that, due to extenuating circumstances of a member of the <br /> Newsletter Committee, the Committee has delayed publication of the next issue until December, <br /> 1999 with the next issue being published in January, 2000. <br /> Councilmember Malone suggested that the City Council review the minutes Irom the October 5, <br /> 1999 Planning Commission meeting. He stated that Midway National Bank had been approved <br /> for a generator with a cedar wood fence for screening. This generator would be obvious from <br /> Red Fox Road and staff had recommended a block wall be used for screening. The applicant had <br /> been asked the cost difference between the two enclosures and had indicated that tI1e block wall <br /> would cost $14,000 more than the cedar wood fence. Therefbre, the Plarming Commission had <br /> approved the cedar wood fence, even though the applicant had expressed a willingness to <br /> construct the recommended block wall. <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that he may not be available to attend the October 25, 1999 <br /> Regular Council meeting. <br />. Councilmember Malone stated that he will be resigning tram the City Council as ofthe end of <br /> November, 1999. <br />
