Rein Company <br />Park Dedication - Examination of Title to Tract Described on Exhibit "A" <br />attached thereto. <br /> <br />In discussion re Exhibit "B" It was noted that It Is Coul1cll's Intent <br />that the Vi Ilage acquire area shown In "purple". <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council authorize issuing <br />check to person~s) specified by Attorney Lynden; check to be in the <br />amount of $10,712.00, less 22.4% of taxes (noted In item 61 of letter <br />of 7/28/75), plus penaltIes due and owing as of date of closing. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br />. <br /> <br />Diseased Shade Tree Prevention and Control Prog~ <br />It was noted that certain property owners have refused to permit the <br />treatment of tr~es because adjacent shrubbery If ill poss I b IY"be destroyed; <br />also some groves of diseased trees are so extensive in number that It <br />is too costly to the property owner to treat and/or remove the infected <br />trees. <br /> <br />After discussion, matter was referred to Tree Inspector and Village <br />Attorney to resolve. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop Company - Sealcoatlng Project, Aopllcatlon for Pay- <br />ment No. I <br />Christoffersen referred Counci I to his letter of July 16, 1975, and <br />attached Application for. Payment No. I, recommending payment as re- <br />quested. <br /> <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, that Councl' approve payment of <br />Appl icanon for Payment No. I, in the amount of $13,215.72. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Status Report on Nursery Hill Improvements <br />Christoffersen reported that Nursery Hi I I road repairs have been made, <br />but to date a request for payment has not be.en .sllbmitted. Christoffer- <br />sen- describedttie repa.irs made to the road, and advised that further <br />erosion of the road Is not likely. <br /> <br />Bethel Master Meter <br />Christoffersen reported that Contractor Is scheduled to do remaining <br />work on Bethe1 Master Meter installation on August 4th. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investments <br />Treasurer Lamb reported the following investments: <br /> <br />$195,000 @ 7% for 180 days on July 22, 1975, In Northwestern <br />National Bank of St. Paul. <br /> <br />$175,000 @ 7.4% for one year on July 25, 1975 in First National <br />Bank of St. Paul. <br /> <br />. <br />. <br /> <br />CrIchton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council ratify the Investments <br />as reported. Motion carried llnanimously. <br /> <br />Newsl!!!22: Proposal - Dave Locey <br />Mr. Locey referred Council, to his lattar of July 18, 1975 and to copies <br />of Rosev I II a's News Letter. <br /> <br />After discussion, Locey agreed to meet with Arden Association Board <br />Members to see If the Association will publish the newsletter if it is <br />financially supported by the Village, and to advise Council of the <br />Association's decision. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Diseased Shade Tree Report <br />3uckley briefly reviewed tbe report of July 14, !975 re Dutch Elm <br />1159a59, notIng that three areas appear critical: <br />-2- <br />
