Buckley distributed copies of proposed landscape plan for Freeway Park. <br /> In discussion, Council noted that a parking lot is still shown on the site plan. <br /> Concern re percentage of park area proposed for plantings was expressed, <br /> Buckley explained that this park is intended for mainly passive recreation; in- <br /> tended.as a pre-school park; small area of active recreation (basketball and tennis <br /> practice). <br /> .. <br /> Feyereisen moved, seconded by Wingert, that the Council authorize the purchas~' of the <br /> plantings, as requested, in the amount of $138.56, Motion carried unanimously. <br /> (It was noted that neighbors will help with the planting). <br /> , <br /> REPCRT OF MAYOR HENRY J, CREPEAU, JR, - General Government, Public Safety <br /> Speed Limit Signs <br /> Crepeau referred the Council to Minutes of the Public Safety Meeting re requests <br /> for speed limit sizns on Indian Oaks Trail and Arden View Court. <br /> After discussion, Feyereisen moved, seconded by Olmen, that the Council authorize <br /> the Public Works Department to install 15 mph sign on Arden View Court and Indian Oaks <br /> Trail to co"~ly with recommendations of the Public Safety Committee. <br /> In discussion it was noted that speed limit signs must first be approved by the <br /> Commissioner of Highways. Motion and second were withdrawn. <br /> Crichton moved, $econded by Feyereisen, that the Public Works Department \,e instructed <br /> to remove 15 mph sign on Valentine Avenue, and other signs which may have been installed <br /> which were not authorized by the Commissioner of Highways. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Crichton moved, seconded by Feyereisen, that the Council requests that the Commissioner <br /> of Highways set speed limits on Arden View Court and Indian Oaks Trail at 15 mph. <br /> Motion carried unanimously, <br /> Dog License Ordinance <br /> Crepeau reported that the Public Safety Committee recommends changing current yearly <br /> dog license fee to a lifetime fee; not recommending a leash law and not recommending <br /> the licensing of pets other than dogs. <br /> After\discussion, matter was deferred to next Council meeting. McNiesh was requested <br /> to check to see if current ordinance includes a rabies shot requiremen~. <br /> . REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> Operation Identification <br /> I1cNiesh advised that the Governor's Crime Commission material has been recltived re <br /> Operation Identification, and suggested that brochures be sent to resident~ with <br /> utility bill (Octcber 20, 1974 mailing). <br /> The Council concurred with the enclosure of this brochure with the utility bill to <br /> residents. Information to industrial and commercial accounts to be mailed ulloer <br /> separate cover. <br /> Claims <br /> HcNiesh re~uested that check #6763 be deleted from list of Claims, <br /> Crichton moved, seconded by Olmen, that the Council approve the Claims as amended. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> -6- <br />
