Matil1a, recommends no changes <br /> in record keeping and accounting procedures this year. <br /> Confirmatinn of cost of next year's audit has been requested and will be forth- <br /> coming. . <br /> Umbrella Insurance Coverage was discussed re Village automobile liability coverage, <br /> in view of large settlements currently awarded by juries. <br /> McNiesh was requested to check coverage with insurance agent, and matter was referred. <br /> to Finance Insurance Sub-committee for reccmmendations to the Cou'~ci1. ; <br /> . <br /> Justice of the Peace Bonds <br /> . After discussion of renewal of Justice of the Peace Bonds, Council concurred that <br /> McNiesh be requested to have bonds extended for one month, expiring January 31, 1975. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN WILLIAM FEYEREISEN - Parks and Recreation, Human Rights <br /> Shade Tree Disease Program . <br /> Feyereisen referred Council to Minutes of Parks and Recreation Committee (October 8, <br /> 1974) and to Dr. French's comments, stating that it appears that the following must <br /> be resolved: <br /> 1. Ordinance be up-dated to include Dutch Elm Disease. <br /> 2. Detection Program be adopted. <br /> 3. Treatment and/or removal of trees Program be adopted. <br /> After discussion of the various alternatives presented by Dr. French, Council <br /> deferred action until the next Council meeting, at which time Council will <br /> determine procedure for detection of diseased trees, method to be adopted for <br /> treatment and/or physical removal of trees and how costs will be paid. <br /> Concern was expressed re apparent spread of Oak wilt Disease at Northwestern College <br /> and Arden Hills Club. Buckley was requested to write letter to College (cc. City of <br /> Roseville) and to Arden Hills Club and Hr, Krannack, property owner. <br /> Human Rights Commission Meetings <br /> Feyereisen reported that, due to several conflicts on the regularly scheduled first <br /> Thursd~yevening each month, the Commission has requested that regular meetings <br /> be cnangedto the first Wednesday of each month (Nov. and Dec. meetings to be at <br /> the home of Richard Ericson); starting in January, meetings to be at Village Hall. <br /> McNiesh was requested to notify Chairman Ericson that the proposed change of meeting <br /> day and place is approved by the Council, provided that notice is posted at Village <br /> Hall that meetings are open to the public and meeting time and pIece is given. <br /> Feyereisen noted that the Affirmative Action Program is now under conSideration <br /> by the Commission. <br /> North Suburban Day Activitv Center Request <br /> Feyereisen referred the Council to the request for support of the 1975 North Suburban <br /> Day Activity Center Activities. <br /> . <br /> Matter was deferred until after January 1, 1975, for Council consideration. <br /> . Parks and Recreation Part-time Employee - Substitutes <br /> Feyereisen moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council approve the employment <br /> of Ted Miller as a substitute part-time Parks and Recreation Department'Employee <br /> at $2.50/hour through the winter. Motion carried unanimously, <br /> (Miller to substitute when Fish not available - total number of he'urs to remain <br /> the same.) <br /> Resume' Re Volunteer Work By Groups and Individuals <br /> Feyereisen referred Council tc Buckley's Resume of Volunteer Work Performed by Various <br /> Individuals and Groups, and moved that the Council authorize letters of appreciation <br /> to be sent to the participants, Motion was seconded by Crichton and carried unani- <br /> mously. <br /> Neighborhood Meeting <br /> Buckley reported that a neighborhood meeting has been scheduled on October 24th <br /> -5- <br /> ------ <br />
