Through discussions and direction from City Council, staff removed items
from the plan that could be completed in-house as a cost savings measure (many of the items
included removals of smaller amenities, and installation of surface mount amenities).

Primary improvements under the construction contract included resurfacing the sport courts and
flat work needed for future amenities (i.e. benches, picnic tables, trash and recycling containers)
at both Arden Oaks Park and Freeway Park, ADA site accessibility improvements at Freeway
Park, and an ADA accessible trail at Arden Oaks Park (included as a bid alternate). The
playground equipment and installation were not included as they have previously been approved
under separate contracts with the vendors.
