Mr. Ringwald stated there has been none. <br /> Councilmember Aplikowski stated from the pietures it appears that this property has been a <br /> problem for some time and suggested the City needs to be more proaetive regarding these types <br /> of properties. <br /> MOTION: Malone moved and Aplikowski seconded a motion to adopt Resolution #97-53, <br /> Authorizing the Commeneement of Proceedings Under Minnesota Statute 463.15, <br /> ET. SEQ. Relative to 1369 Forest Lane given the findings by the Building <br /> Inspector and City Council that this building is deteriorated, unsafe, below <br /> standards, and deleterious to public safety. The motion carried wlanimously (4- <br /> 0). <br /> D. Resolution #97-52, Opposing Legislation Providing a Public Subsidy for <br /> Construction of Additional Professional Sports Facilities <br /> Mr. Fritsinger explained that the proposed resolution, drafted by Sen. Linda Runbeck, would <br /> oppose legislation providing a public subsidy for construction of additional professional sports <br /> facilities. He noted that the resolution is not specific and takcs a broad stance against public <br /> subsidy for such a facility. <br /> . Councilmember Keim stated her opposition to this resolution, as the resolution is not directly <br /> specitic to the proposed Twins stadium. She stated her belief that the City should not be getting <br /> involved in tllese matters, as these are State matters. <br /> Mayor Probst agreed, stating the State has elected representatives to solve tllese matters, and <br /> suggested the City take no action on this resolution. <br /> No action taken, <br /> E, Ordinance No. 302, Amending Cable Francbise Ordinance No. 226, Article II, <br /> Section 4, Franchise Term <br /> Mr. Fritsinger stated the attorney representing the cities in the North Suburban Cable <br /> Commission has recommended that the eities extend the term of the franchise to allow for final <br /> contract language negotiation with Meredith Cable. Staff recommends that Council adopt <br /> Ordinance #302, extending the term of the existing franchise agreement to January 18, 1998. <br /> MOTION: Malone moved and Keim seconded a motion to adopt Ordinance #302, Amending <br /> Cable Franchise Ordinance No. 226, Article II, Section 4, Franchise Term, <br /> extending the contract to January 18, 1998. The motion carried unanimously (4- <br /> . 0). <br />
