<br />- <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - MARCH 30. 1998 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone noted the suggestion to consider a significant back up power system. <br />He stated this type of system is quite expensive and noted that services issued from the City Hall <br />are not life safety issues. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone noted the indication from residents serving on the Public Safety <br />Commission that they are not interested in considering a city-wide defined day of service garbage <br />hauler option. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski reported on the recent Ramsey County League meeting and <br />presentation by Como Zoo who is soliciting funding for improvements. <br /> <br />Councilmember ApJikowski urged statfto proceed quickly with the office space lease, <br /> <br />Mayor Probst thanked John Miller for attending the meeting this evening. <br /> <br />Due to the Council motion to direct staff to proceed with negotiations for office space at the <br />Gateway Business District, Mayor Probst suggested the payment to the City of New Brighton for <br />rental oftheir City Hall for the full year be tabled to the next meeting. The Council concurred. <br /> <br />In view of the recent severe weather, Mayor Probst raised the issue of emergency preparedness <br />and requested Council's support of expending $500 to prepare an emergency preparedness plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Stafford advised that Mark Bishop attended the last Safety Commission meeting. Mr. <br />Bishop has written the emergency prcparedness plans for New Brighton and Mounds View and is <br />currently working on a plan for Andover. He reported that the Safety Commission recommended <br />Mr. Bishop be hired to prepare a plan for Arden Hills at an estimated cost of $500. He stated he <br />will contact those three cities to receive their input regarding Mr. Bishop's work. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst armounced the birthday of Community Development Director Kevin Ringwald. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />ouncilmember Malone moved and Councilmember Hicks seconded a motion to <br />djou e meeting at 10:58 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />~:?/- <br /> <br />Br{an Fritsingtr <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />NOTICE OF MEETINGS <br /> <br />The next regular City Council meeting will be held April 13, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. at the New <br />Brighton Council Chambers. <br />
