<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - SEPTEMBER 14,1998 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />Mr. Ringwald stated they had just become aware of these safety issues, and by Friday they will <br />have the engineering report and can begin discussions with the City Attorney to determine <br />appropriate action, <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger noted there had been a meeting with General LeBlanc and two attorneys from the <br />Minnesota National Guards to discuss the lease agreement for the new City Hall, Another <br />meeting will take place next week to start the process of the lease agreement. The plan is to have <br />this issue resolved when the transfer takes place. <br /> <br />Councilmember Keirn asked if there is a target date. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated that, at this time, there is not. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger indicated there will be a meeting tomorrow with Mayor Probst, Councilmember <br />Aplikowski, and the architect for the City Hall to look at the budget items and be sure all parties <br />involved are on the same "page" with regard to the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated a notice has been received from the City employee's health care provider and <br />there will be an expected eight percent increase in group health insurance rates for next year. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski commented regarding whether certificates of appreciation would be <br />provided for committee members at the upcoming annual recognition picnic, <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated this hadn't heen done for several years, and committee members seemed <br />most appreciative of the Councilmembers hosting tbe annual event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski noted she has an invitation for the Council to attend the Ramsey <br />County League of Local Governments and Coalition for Healthy Youth Town Hall meeting being <br />held September 24, 1998 at 6:30 p,m., at the Shoreview Community Center. She indicated the <br />fonnat will be different this year. <br /> <br />Councilmember Keirn noted there will be a Northwest Youth and Family Services open house on <br />October 1, 1998 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p,m, <br /> <br />Mayor Probst commented, regarding the Fox 29 tower, he is unclear where things are going at <br />this time, but expects some additional information this week. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated he has an issue regarding the Ramsey County TIP, included in the packet, <br />showed only two projects, both of which are scheduled out in the future, He noted the project <br />from Fairview Avenue to Cleveland Avenue is not a large concern but the project on Lexington to <br />Highway 96 to Victoria Street, which had once been considered an urgent issue, has been moved <br />out to 2003. He asked for further explanation for this delay, <br /> <br />Mr. Brown stated both the City of Arden Hills and Shoreview must request action in getting the <br />necessary right-of-ways and signals, <br />
