<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - SEPTEJ\1BER 14,1998 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Nixon, 1369 Forest Lane, stated he is doing his best to comply with the rebuilding of <br />his home. The building plans are in but things are being held up by the financing, He found out <br />last week the insurance company had paid offhis mortgage so he has applied for a construction <br />loan to pay for materials, He was hoping to hear today on the outcome of his application but it <br />may not be until Wednesday of this week. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst asked if staff has received the plans. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated plans have been received and the Building Official has asked for additional <br />information but he is not sure of the status on the receipt of this information, He indicated the <br />Building Official did not indicate he would recommend the Council not pursue any action at this <br />time to allow Mr. Nixon another day or two. <br /> <br />Councihnember Keim asked if staff has asked for proof of financing, <br /> <br />Mr. Ringwald indicated they are expecting this additional information to be provided by Monday <br />of next week. <br /> <br />Mr. Fritsinger stated there will be a Council Worksession on Monday to update the Council, but <br />staff would prefer to have the documents from Mr. Nixon prior to the meeting for review. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Planning Cases <br />1. Case #98-22, Variance, 1932 Glenpaul Avenue <br /> <br />Ms, Randall explained the applicant is requesting approval of a side yard-street setback variance <br />(25 feet proposed, when 40 feet is required) for a new garage on a single family lot zoned R-2. <br />The applicant currently has a 594 square foot (22 feet by 27 feet) detached garage, The detached <br />garage is currently 13 feet from the west side yard-street property line, The applicant wishes to <br />rebuild the existing detached garage at 720 square feet (24 feet by 30 feet) The proposed rebuilt <br />garage requires a side yard-street setback variance. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommends approval of Planning Case #98-22, Variance for side <br />yard-street setback for the detached garage (25 feet proposed when 40 feet is required) based on <br />the "Corner Side Yard Setback Variance ( detached garage)" section of the staff report dated <br />August 20, 1998, <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone moved and Councilmember Larson seconded a motion to <br />approve Planning Case #98-22, Variance for side yard-street setback for the <br />detached garage (25 feet proposed when 40 feet is required) based on the "Corner <br />Side Yard Setback Variance (detached garage)" section of the staff report dated <br />August 20, 1998, The motion carried unanimously (5-0), <br />
