Buckley was requested to check with Public Works <br />Department re shared use of OJT employee until CETA program begins. <br /> <br />Preliminary Discussion of Proposed Higher Education Zoning District <br />Matter was deferred to future Council Meeting, <br />.. . . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Police Union Contract <br />Crichton referred Council to transmittal letter and proposed Police <br />Union Contract; noting the changes proposed. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council referred the proposed Contract to Attorney <br />Lynden for his review and comm$nts. Lynden to be advised that Cflchton <br />will continue negotiations re certain areas of the Contract and report <br />re agreed changes. <br /> <br />Fire Protection Status Report <br />Woodburn reported that the L.J.V.Fire Department has taken action to: <br /> <br />I. Accept ~udget on an Interim basis based on 1976 budget <br />p I uS 10,," . <br />2. Turn down proposed Rosevllle pay scale. <br />3. Rescind 4-part concept previously offered to the 3 cities. <br />4. Remal~ e volunteer department which It feels Is in the best <br />Interast of the cities (no compensation). <br />5. WII I attempt to work on mil I rate basis and a possible 5-year <br />con'~ract . <br />- .,s;!lJ.!S to have no control over the department. <br />--~_need an additional $400+ to start. <br />- an effort to break the Impasse. <br />- ask cities' approval of the concept; rate Is not set <br />at this time. <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton moved that Council ~uthorlze Woodburn to <br />pursue tho ml II rate basis for a contract. MotIon was seconded by <br />Hanson and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Woodburn suggested that Arden Hills offer to pay its share of Attorney <br />fees from here on. Ine <br />COUnci t <br />CI~iY re <br /> <br />Builders - C.D. <br />authorized Treasurer Lamb to rollover the C.D. held by the <br />Skyline Builder's Fill Project for one month. <br /> <br />ROQuest for Fill - Skyline Bulld8rs <br />McNiesh reported that Skyline Builders has an opportunity to obtain <br />about 1000 cubic yards of dirt fill on Wednesday of this week; requests <br />p,armi sslon to p lace It on thel r property on County Road F. <br /> <br />In diSCUSSion. Council noted that Preliminary Plat Is pending approval <br />by Rice Creek Watershed District; not sure where fill should be placed <br />~ntil Engineer determines how existing till will be utilized In the <br />plat.
