<br />r .) <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Vii lage of Arden Hills <br />Monday, April 26, 1976 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Vi Ilage Hall <br /> <br />Ca II to Order <br />Pursuant to due cal I and notice thereof, Mayor Crepeau called the <br />meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Robert Woodburn, <br />Charles Crichton, James Wingert, William Feyerelsen. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Engineer Donald Christoffersen, Treasurer Donald Lamb, <br />Parks Director John Buckley, Public Works Superintendent Hans <br />Johansen, Building Inspector Larry Squires, Clerk AdminIs- <br />trator Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of MInutes <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Wingert, that the Minutes of the Regular <br />Council Meeting of April 12, 1976, be approved as amended. Motion <br />carried unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that the Minutes of the <br />Council Meeting of Apri I 19, 1976, be approved as submitted. <br />carried unanimouSly. <br /> <br />Special <br />Motion <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Approval of Additional Tennis Instructors <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyereisen, that Counci I approve the <br />hiring of Steven Todd, Scott Hagberg and Marie Mellgren as Tennis <br />Instructors @ $6.00/hour. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Garden Plots <br />Buckley reported that 80 garden plots are now being utilized In the <br />two garden areas established last year (NSP property on Old Highway <br />10 and Husnik etc. property on Snelling Avenue, south of Highway 96). <br />Buckley reported that NSP has permitted the use of additional garden <br />,a,re,!._IIJ the Old Hlgnway 10 site,'which is now under cultivation, and <br />-wil I be staked to provide 30 to 40 additional garden plots. <br /> <br />Improvement of Baseball Diamonds <br />Buckley referred Council to the Minutes of the Aprl I 13, 1976 Parks <br />and Recreation Committee Meeting re Community Education Funding for <br />Improvement of Baseball Diamonds; recommending the up-gradIng of bal I <br />fields at Valentine Hi lis and Mounds View High School, uti llzing Vi Ilage <br />labor and machines and School District funds in the amount of $2000, <br />which is allocated for this purpose. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyereisen, that Council authorize Buckley <br />to proceed with plans for the up-grade of ball diamonds at Mounds <br />View High School and Valentine HI lis Elementary School. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(Buckley to memo Council re schedule for summer maintenance program _ <br />Summer Youth Program, CETA, ful I-time etc.) <br /> <br />Consideration of proposed Joint Powers Agreement, between Mounds View <br />School District and Arden Hi I Is, was deferred to next Council Meeting <br />(May lOth). <br /> <br />1976 Park Site Improvemont Proposal <br />Buckley referred Council to the Parks and Recreation Department 1976 <br />Site Improvement Proposal totalling $11,800. <br /> <br />Crichton noted that plsos for Hazelnut and Floral Parks wil I be consid- <br />ered by the Parks and Recreation Committee at its May 11th Meeting. <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council <br />authorize capital expenditures in the amount of $3700 for the follow- <br />i n9' <br /> <br />-1- <br />
