I Meeting <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Apri I 26, 1976 <br /> <br />Freeway Park - ($850) <br />Complete shrub planTing <br />InsTal I ball board <br />Tree PlanTing (upper and lower) <br /> <br />$250 <br />$100 <br />$500 <br /> <br />Ingerson Park - ($650) <br />Cargo NeT <br /> <br />$650 <br /> <br />Charles Perry Park - ($1200) <br />Trees <br />Grade Hockey Rink & put In Gravel <br />Horse Shoe, Pit <br /> <br />$500 <br />$600 <br />$100 <br /> <br />Floral Park - ($1000) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Tree and Shrub PlanTings <br /><norTh border) <br /> <br />$1000 <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />(It was noted that additional site improvements for 1976 will be <br />considered at later meeting.) <br /> <br />Summer Playground Proposal <br />Buckley referred Council to the Arden Hills Parks and Recreation <br />Department Proposed 1976 Summer Playground Program (June 21 through <br />J, u I Y 30). <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Oouncll <br />approve the 1976 Program and Leadership as liSTed, and authorize the <br />Parks and Recreation Director to proceed with the program as indicated, <br />Motion carried unanimously., <br /> <br />(it was noted that the Special InTereST ?fograrils iTlils't paragrap'hJ <br />are part of the Self-sustaining Program). <br /> <br />~ounty Participation ir BIcycle Lane Striping <br />Buckley referred Council to letter from Ramsey County (4-20-76) advising <br />that the County will e~ge-stripe Johanna Boulevard, Old Highway 10 <br />and County Road E2, In conjunction with the County road striping pro- <br />gram; Vi Ilage personnel to assist with stenciling the bike lane decals; <br />una~le to widen should~rs along Johanna Boulevard this year. <br /> <br />In discussion, concern was expressed That certain areas of Johanna <br />Boulevard may be too nsrrow, at present, to be striped for biking. <br /> <br />Buckley explained that proposal is to stripe 12' from center line of <br /> <br />r~~..l~.~J/ ~~ ~ ~,~ -:2.t.e~Ytfl"~ ~ -z;.U, <br /> <br />After discussion, Buckley was authorized to pursue bike lane striping <br />with the County of areas considered to be wide enough (at least 4' <br />wide bike lane); instructing County not to stripe areas which are too <br />narrow to aCCOMModate a 4' wide bike lane. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(Council noted that Ramsey County is proposing a Regional Bikeway <br />Syatem, which is exp.cted to be presented soon for approval.) <br /> <br />Bui Iding Usage Figures and Percentages <br />Buckley referred Council to letter from Community Education Director <br />Barry Bauer (2/5/76) and attached building usage figures and percentages. <br /> <br />After review, Counci I requested Buckley to check figures for hourly <br />usage etc. Matter was deferred to later meeting. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Department Personnel <br />BiN;kley referred Council to his memo of 4/26/76, requesting approval <br />of 'l1iring of Youth Op'en Gymnastics Instructor and temporary park <br />maintenance employee. <br /> <br />Atter discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council <br />authorize the hiring of Bill Swanson @ $8.00/hour for Youth Open <br />Gymnastics and Mark Petarson @ $3.50/hour as temporary park maintenance <br />employee.
