<br />. ... <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page two <br /> <br />March 8, 1976 <br /> <br />The Board of Appeals and Planning Commission recommendations were <br />reviewed and, after discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Wood- <br />burn, that Council approve the Olympia 3rewing Company variance re- <br />quest to store pallets outside from now until July 15, 1976, In <br />accordance with drawing dated received 2126/76, with the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I. Storage is temporary in nature. <br />2. Appropriate fire precautions a~e taken, including spray- <br />Ing of the surrounding grass with a solution of sodium <br />si Ilcate, close proximity of fire fighting equipment and <br />24 hour security system. <br />3. Pallets be neatly cradled and covered with plastic material <br />at all times. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />(It was noted that this variance for temporary outside storage is <br />granted on a one-time basis only.> <br /> <br />REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR HANS JOHANSEN <br /> <br />Air Compressor Purchase . <br />Johansen referred Council to Specifications for Air Compressor and <br />reported that the Public Works Committee recommends the purchase. <br /> <br />Johansen estimated cost of Air Compressor at $1000 to $1100 and wiring <br />at about $300; Public Works Department will mount the compressor. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, that Councl I authorize <br />Johansen to solicite quotes for compressor in accordance with Speci- <br />fications submitted. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />County Meeting of February 20th <br />Johansen referred Councl I to his memo of 2/26/76 re County meeting. <br /> <br />After discussion of Item #4, McNiesh was requested by Council to refer <br />matter to Public Safety Committee to contact County re what City of <br />Arden Hi I Is might do to assist County with traffic conttols and <br />speed zones. <br /> <br />1976 Sea Icoatlng <br />Johansen reported that the Public Works Committee recommends that <br />Council proceed with the 1976 Sealcoatlng Project, as Indicated on map; <br />$19,000 has been budgeted in 1976. (About 1/4 of the Vii lage streets <br />are scheduled for sealcoating each year.> <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton moved, secondedby Feyereisen, that Council <br />authorize Johansen and Engineer Christoffersen to prepare specifica- <br />tions and advertise for bids for sealcoatlng of streets as Indicated <br />on the map presented by Johansen. Motion carried unanimouSly. <br /> <br />(Specifications and Contract are to be prepared to assure Vi Ilage of <br />. unit price bids.> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Access Roadway - Fairview to Lake Johanna Boulevard <br />Johansen reported that the Public Works Committee recommends that <br />traffic on this roadway be one-way, from west to east, or that the <br />road be closed at the west end, providing access on this roadway to <br />the two lots Immediately north of the roadway from Johanna Boulevard <br />only. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council deferred action pending: <br /> <br />I. Clarification of property in actual Village ownership. <br />2. Reaction of affected property owners re proposed alterna- <br />tives recommended by the Public Works Committee. <br />3. Recommendations from the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />Facia Refinishing - Village Hall and Public Works Building <br />Council authorized Johansen to proceed with the facia refinishing <br />of the Village Hall and Public Works Building as described In his <br />memo of 2/26176. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
