Crepeau, Jr., Counci Imen Wi II lam Feyerelsen, <br />James Wingert, Charles Crichton, Robert Woodburn. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Treasurer Donald lamb, Police Chief Pat Sexton, Clerk <br />Administrator Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Special Counci I Meetinp - January 2, 1976 <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that the Minutes of the <br />Counc! I Meeting of January 2, 1976 be approved as submitted. <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Special <br />Motion <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Regular Counci I Meetln~ - December 29, 1975 <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that the Minutes of the <br />Council Meeting of December 29, 1975 be approved as amended. <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Regular <br />Motion <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF POLICE CHIEF PAT SEXTON <br /> <br />Pollee Reserve Training Program <br />Sexton reported that five persons were accepted In the Arden Hills <br />Reserve Training Program; three of the five actually started the <br />16-week course on Janu~ry 7th (Herb Tetley, Paul Hustings and Oennls <br />Lundholm) . <br /> <br />(Council noted that the Ru-'es and Regulat'ions for the Arden Hi lis <br />Program should be resolved by Councl I and Chief Sexton prior to <br />completion of the 16-week course.) <br /> <br />Squad Car Leasing <br />Sexton reported that the possibi tities of "closed-end leasing" of <br />squad cars is being st~dled by the Police Department; both squad <br />cars are presently within 10,000 miles of each other at about <br />65,000 mi les. <br /> <br />In disc~on, it was suggested that t~r . II _ .. ~ . <br />put on mi leage use temporar~ly, pending decision re purchase or <br />lease 0' cars. Sexton was requested to include lease of "unmarked <br />car" in leasing study, as wet t as the two squad cars, and to obtain <br />Information re Vi Ilage maintenance of le3sed cars. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE ~CNIESH <br /> <br />MTC Request for Approval of Proposed Express Route <br />An Image of the proposed express route was shown, and McNiesh reported <br />that bus stop locations will be establ iS1ed after route is approved. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Wingert no~ed that the Route Ridership Committee had originally pro- <br />posed a route extending along County Roa~ E2 to Old Highway 10 to <br />Bethel College. <br /> <br />After discussion, McNiesh was requested to inquire whether the loop <br />in Arden Hi lis could be extended east along County Road E2 to Old <br />Highway 10 (Bethel College); also to suggest that route then possibly <br />continue south on Old Highway 10 to lake Johanna Boulevard and west <br />on County Road D to 35W (serving more Arjen Hi I Is residents). McNiesh <br />was also requested to obtain MTC projections as to when Route 38 wll I <br />be self-sustaining. <br /> <br />Councl I action re route approval was deferred pending receipt of <br />requested information. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
