Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />August.,31, 1981 <br /> <br />Resignation from Finance and Parks and Recreation Committees <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council accept the <br />resignation of Dean Cochran as a member of the Finance and Parks <br />and Recreation Committees, and authorize presentation of Certif- <br />icate of Appreciation for his services to the City. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MC NIESH <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 81-55, Opposin~ Proposed Improvement for Lake <br />Access at Lake Josephine Park <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that Council approve <br />Resolution No. 81-55, OPPOSING PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT FOR LAKE <br />ACCESS AT LAKE JOSEPHINE PARK. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Request for Sepior Citizen Utility Rates - K. Luh <br />Council was referred to McNiesh's memo of 8-28-81. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred that the Senior Citizen rates <br />not be granted because the situation does not meet the requirement <br />of three (3) or fewer in the household; therefore does not meet <br />the ~hilosophy or intent of the rate reduction. <br /> <br />Apportionment Resolutions No. 81-57 and 81-58 (McClung Second <br />Addition) . <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Dollenhorst, that Council adopt Res- <br />olutions No. 81-57, RESOLUTION RELATING TO APPORTIONMENT OF ASSESS- <br />MENTS RELATINC TO COMBINED IMPROVEMENT W-77-5 AND W-78-2 and No. <br />81-58, RESOLUTION RELATING TO APPORTIONMENT OF ASSESSMENTS RELAT- <br />INC TO CONSOLIDATED SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS NOS. 12 AND 13 <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) . <br /> <br />Request to Replace Monroe Calculator <br />Council was referred to McNiesh's memo re replacement of Monroe <br />570 Calculator. <br /> <br />After discussion, Hollenhorst moved approval of the calculator <br />replacement, without a service contract. Motion was seconded by <br />Johnson and carried unanimously (5.0). <br /> <br />Claims and Payrolls <br />McNiesh referred Council to list of 5 claims totalling $2,301.50 <br />and two payrolls. <br /> <br />Hollenhorst moved approval of the Claims <br />sented. Motion was seconded by Wingert <br />(5-0) . <br /> <br />and Payrolls as pre- <br />and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />September Council Meetin~ <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that Regular Council Meet- <br />ings be scheduled on Sept. 14th and 28th and a Special Council <br />Meeting on September 17 (Joint Finance/Council Meeting). Motion <br />carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 81-59 <br />McAllister moved approval of Resolution No. 81-59, REQUESTING THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL HRA TO APPLY FOR AND IMPLEMENT A REHABILI- <br />TATION LOAN PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS. Motion was <br />seconded by Wingert and carried unanimously. (5-0). <br /> <br />Board of Appeals Vacancy <br />McNiesh noted that a vacancy exists on the Board of Appeals. <br />Johnson will talk with Chairman McCall relative to a replacement. <br /> <br />Minnesota Baptist Conference Donation <br />Mayor Woodburn acknowledged receipt by the Village of a $250.00 <br />donation by Minnesota Baptist Conference as an expression of <br />appreciation for municipal services received. <br /> <br />(Letter expressing City's gratitude to be sent by McNiesh). <br /> <br />-5- <br />
