<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />August "1, 1981 . <br /> <br />$105,000 at Twin City Federal at 17.45% interest, maturing <br />3-31-82 <br /> <br />Wingert moved to ratify the Treasurer's investments. <br />seconded by Johnson and carried unanimously. (5-0). <br /> <br />Motion was <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 220 <br />Ho1lenhorst moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council dispense <br />with the final reading and adopt Ordinance No. 220, AMENDING <br />SECTION 3-16 OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE RELATING TO SUNDAY ON- <br />SALE HOURS. Motion carried unanimously (5.0) <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 221 ~ <br />Wingert moved to Introduce Ordinance No. 221 by title, AYENDING <br />SECTION 13-24 OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE BY ADDING SUBSECTION <br />-(QQ) THERETO and waive the final readin!(. Motion ..as seconded <br />by Hollenhorst and carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Win!(ert, that Council adopt Ordinance <br />No. 221, AMENDING SECTION 13-24 OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE BY <br />ADDING SUBSECTION (QQ) THERETO. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Newsletter Committee Recommendation - To..n Crier Editor. <br />Council was referred to letter of resignation from Keith Ness, <br />Editor of the Town Crier Newsletter, and to memo from Mary Gillies <br />(8-25-81), Newsletter Committee Chairman, recommendin!( the appoint- <br />ment of Craig Johnson for the position of editor of the Town Crier. <br /> <br />Woodburn thanked Keith Ness, on behalf of the Council, for his <br />very competent service as newsletter editor. Woodburn nominated <br />Craig Johnson to succeed Keith Ness as Town Crier Editor. <br /> <br />Johnson moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council ratify the <br />Mayor's appointment of Craig Johnson as Editor of the Town Crier <br />Newsletter. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Request for Time Extension to Fxecllt!,_Final Plat of l1riarkno11 <br />Plat 2. <br />Council was referred to Miller's response relative to his review <br />of the amended Final Plat of Briarknoll Plat II (8-27-81). <br /> <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the time <br />extension to September 30th to record the Final Plat of Briarknoll <br />Plat 2. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Park Dedication - Welsh Construction (R.T.I). <br />Council was referred to McNiesh's memo ;r-s:Z2-81. <br /> <br />MC~~ier moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council approve $20,000 <br />as _ - satisfaction of park dedication for Resistance Technology <br />Inc. (Welsh Construction) at 1260 Red Fox Road. Motion carried <br />unanimous1y(5-0). <br /> <br />(3.75 acres @ $53,333/acre - 10% of $200,000) <br /> <br />Cable Communication Questionnaires <br />Wingert reported-receipt of Sto-rer-questionnaire; noted that others <br />will he forth coming. Wingert said a response is not required; <br />suggested that a single contact be authorized by Arden Hills, as in <br />Shoreview, Roseville and New Brighton, and that this person keep <br />a file of any and all answers and to whom response was made. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Proposed Federal Legislation re Cable Rates and Franchise Fees <br />Letter supporting current regulations will be drafted by Wingert <br />and McNiesh, with copies to Tom Curley, Vento, Boschwitz, <br />Durenberger, expressing the importance of public access channels <br />for citizens. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
