<br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, July 13, 19BI - 7:30 p.m, <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn called <br />the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present <br /> <br />- Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Janet Hollenhorst, <br />Diane McAllister, Maurice Johnson, James Wingert (8:22). <br /> <br />Absent <br /> <br />- None <br /> <br />Also Present - Former Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr., Planner Orlyn <br />Miller, Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNiesh, <br />Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Hollenhorst moved, seconded by Johnson, that the Minutes of the <br />Regular Council Meeting of June 29th be approved as submitted. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Presentation of Certificate of Nomination for C.C. Ludwig <br />Award to former Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr. <br />Mayor Woodburn presented the Certificate of Nomination for the <br />C.C. Ludwig Award to former Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr. and <br />expressed Council appreciation to him for his distinquished ser- <br />vice to Arden Hills. ,. <br /> <br />Crepeau accepted the award with thanks and read a letter of com- <br />mendation he received from Donald Slater, Executive Director of <br />the League of Minnesota Cities. Crepeau then accepted Mayor <br />Woodburn's invitation to chair a portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />None. <br /> <br />Discussion re Emergency Procedures - <br />Commander Fred Spencer <br />Spencer reported that the Sheriff's office does not have an <br />"Emergency Plan" to present; has "procedures" for coordinating <br />help, which Councilmen may review. Spencer said knowing who <br />and where to call for assistance is most important; explained <br />that during the recent Roseville tornado, they were besieged <br />with help. Spencer emphasized the importance of contact with <br />a specific Council member for authorization to call the Nation- <br />al Guard, etc., if needed; also the importance of contact with <br />the Public Works Dept. for aid in closing and re-opening roads, <br />etc. Spencer explained the importance of coordination of juris- <br />diction and a central telephone answering station, other than <br />thru the Sheriff's emergency number, to handle in-coming inquiries <br />from out-state re concern for relatives and friends. Spencer <br />suggested there is a need for appropriately handling this situation. <br />Spencer stated that they are in the process of critiquing proce- <br />dures, etc. following the Roseville tornado, will have more <br />information in about a month. <br /> <br />In retrospect, it was noted that in the past, Civil Defense was <br />active; now is inactive and therefore ineffective; presently <br />have better trained fire and police in the area which was not <br />previously available. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAG~ PLANNER ORLYN MILLER <br /> <br />Case No, Bl-21, Lot Split and Consolidation - <br />4549 LakeshorePlace, Elmer J. and Patricia A. <br />Cmie I <br />Council was referred to a sketch of the two parcels, indicating <br />the proposed split of 7900 sq. ft. from one lot, which is to be <br /> <br />--"- <br />
