, Minutes of Regular Council Meeting Village of Arden Hills Monday, April 27, 1981 - 7130 p.m, Village Hall Call to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting Mayor Woodburn called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. -. Roll Call Present - Acting Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Janet Hollenhorst, Diane McAllister, Maurice Johnson. Absent - Mayor Charlie Crichton Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Engineer Donald Christoffersen, Parks Director John Buckley, Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. AP~roval of Minutes Johnson moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that the Minutes of the April 13, 1981 Council Meeting be approved as amended. Motion carried unanimously. Businesa From the Floor None. REPORT OY VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY Purchase of PlaVRround Equipment Council vas referred to Buckley's memo of 4-24-81 and attachments thereto. In diacussion, Council suggested that firm for the proposed two playground structures; with those purchased in former years. Buckley reported that the structures previously cost about $2500.00; currently are about $6500.00+. Buckley said that waiting to order would cause a two-week delay; wants to order this month for instal- lation by mid-June; suggested he could have costs this week and share them with Council by phone; noted that the proposed purchases are within the budget. figures be obtained asked how costs compare After discussion, McAllister moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that Council approve the purchases as outlined in Buckley's memo. Motion carried (McAllister, Hollenhorst, Johnson voting in favor of the motion; Woodburn voting in opposition.) Summer Maintenance Employees Council was referred to Buckley's memo of April 24th re Springl Summer Park Maintenance Personnel, and attachments thereto. -. Buckley reviewed the park maint,nance needs for the various parks and proposed personnel to sccomplish same; requested approval of hiring Kevin Fuller and Mike Gray for 20 hours/week in May and 40 hours/week June through August at $3.75/hour, After discussion, Hollenhorst moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council authorize the hiring of Kevin Fuller and Mike Gray at $3.75/hour as outlined in Buckley's memo. Motion carried unan- imously. (Council encouraged the hi~in8 of Arden Hills residents in the future whenever leasible.) Summer ProRram McAllister moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the Summer Program as proposed. Motion carried unanimously.
