<br />, <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, April 27, 1981 - 7130 p.m, <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting Mayor Woodburn <br />called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Acting Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Janet Hollenhorst, <br />Diane McAllister, Maurice Johnson. <br /> <br />Absent - Mayor Charlie Crichton <br /> <br />Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Engineer Donald Christoffersen, <br />Parks Director John Buckley, Clerk Administrator <br />Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />AP~roval of Minutes <br />Johnson moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that the Minutes of the <br />April 13, 1981 Council Meeting be approved as amended. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Businesa From the Floor <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OY VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Purchase of PlaVRround Equipment <br />Council vas referred to Buckley's memo of 4-24-81 and attachments <br />thereto. <br /> <br />In diacussion, Council suggested that firm <br />for the proposed two playground structures; <br />with those purchased in former years. <br /> <br />Buckley reported that the structures previously cost about $2500.00; <br />currently are about $6500.00+. Buckley said that waiting to order <br />would cause a two-week delay; wants to order this month for instal- <br />lation by mid-June; suggested he could have costs this week and <br />share them with Council by phone; noted that the proposed purchases <br />are within the budget. <br /> <br />figures be obtained <br />asked how costs compare <br /> <br />After discussion, McAllister moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that <br />Council approve the purchases as outlined in Buckley's memo. <br />Motion carried (McAllister, Hollenhorst, Johnson voting in favor <br />of the motion; Woodburn voting in opposition.) <br /> <br />Summer Maintenance Employees <br />Council was referred to Buckley's memo of April 24th re Springl <br />Summer Park Maintenance Personnel, and attachments thereto. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Buckley reviewed the park maint,nance needs for the various parks <br />and proposed personnel to sccomplish same; requested approval of <br />hiring Kevin Fuller and Mike Gray for 20 hours/week in May and 40 <br />hours/week June through August at $3.75/hour, <br /> <br />After discussion, Hollenhorst moved, seconded by McAllister, that <br />Council authorize the hiring of Kevin Fuller and Mike Gray at <br />$3.75/hour as outlined in Buckley's memo. Motion carried unan- <br />imously. <br /> <br />(Council encouraged the hi~in8 of Arden Hills residents in the <br />future whenever leasible.) <br /> <br />Summer ProRram <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the <br />Summer Program as proposed. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
