Motion carried
unanimously.

Status Report - 694/Lexington Avenue Drainage
Council was referred to Christoffersen's letter of 2-4-81.
Christoffersen suggested that a joint meeting with Shoreview's
Council be held as soon as possible; suggested that the meeting
include MnDOT and Ramsey County also, so all will have the same
picture and easements can be prepared which are necessary to
effect the improvement; noted that this should occur soon in
order to accomplish the improvement before fall.

.

McNiesh advised that the suggested February 19th date is not
satisfactory to Shoreview; March 23rd was suggested as an alternate
date. Crichton said he would like the Arden Hills Council to meet
with the Engineer, prior to a joint meeting, to assure Council's
understanding of the plans; noted that details of the drainage
plan have not been agreed upon; suggested that possibly each Council
proceed independently re Alternate C and bring the spproved Alter-
nate C to the other Council.

Council concurred that discussion of the plan with the Engineer
is desired, and scheduled' a Special Council Meeting on Wednesday,
February 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the office portion of the Village
Hall.

Hol1enhorst moved, seconded by McAllister that Council, after
determination by the City Engineer that Shoreview, Ramsey County
and 'the State are in agreement with Alternate C, proceed with
independent meeting(s) to determine an a1ternste in the best
interest of the residents; ask others (Shoreview, Ramsey Co. and
State to proceed in the same way.; after agreement has been reached
jointly, schedule a public hearing. Motion carried unanimously.'

(No joint meeting will be scheduled unless a problem arises.)

REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER

Case No. 81-2, Building Permit for Storage Room Addition - Control
Data Corporation
(Crichton left the meeting room)
Council was referred to a transparency of a location map. depict-
ing the proposed storage building at the west side of the existing
complex, and to Planning Memo (1-27-81) and Planning Commission
Minutes (2-4-81).

Curtis Bostrum
storage of the
operations.

(CDC) explained that the addition is proposed for
flammable and non-flammable chemicals used in CDC

.

Bruce Knuth (CDC) described the addition to consist of two rooms;
one for flammable and one for non-flammable chemicals; purpose is
to provide better storage than at present; area will be dammed and
sprinklered. It was noted that the amount of chemicals stored will
not be increased over that currently stored and additional employ~
ees will not be needed. Knuth said that some hazardous waste is
stored until it can be properly disposed of.

Miller reported that the Planning Commission recommends approval
of the Building Permit. Noted that its primary concerns were with
fire code requirements and were of the opinion that city must
depend on other agencies to deal with hazardous chemicals.

-2-
