<br /> Minutes of Regular Council Mee ting October 14, 1980 <br /> Page 6 <br /> Conce rn was expressed regarding appearance of the building ex te r- <br /> ior, b rid ge between the building~ landscaping of the si te e tc. ; <br /> plans showing what is being proposed were requested. <br /> Colestock aaid he can have the plans by the October 27th Council <br /> meeting, <br /> Mo ti on carried (Win ge rt , Crich ton, Woodburn Voting in favor; <br /> Hans on, Crepeau voting in opposition). <br /> Case No. 80- 3 8 , Varian ce s for An tenn a Tower - <br /> 1840 Gramsie Road <br /> Council was referred to brochure of proposed amateur radio an- <br /> tenna tower which is about 26 fee t in height (b as i c towe r) but <br /> . will telescope to 65 feet when in use. <br /> Applicant explained that the towe r is hinged so it can be laid <br /> on its side for repairs and maintenance. <br /> Mi lle r reported that the Planning Commission recommends approval <br /> of the t owe r variances; requested applicant to present a sketch <br /> showing the pre cise towe r location, verification that the towe r <br /> will not cause radio and television interference and to submit <br /> additional neighborhood re ac tions from homes to the south. <br /> A modified sketch of the proposed towe r location was presented <br /> which positions the towe r 24 · from the west property line (2 I <br /> variance) and 31' from the south property line. Mi ller explained <br /> that the towe r. in this location, would be c le a r of t re e 8 . but <br /> close enough to be partially screened; tower can also be laid <br /> down to work on it, <br /> Ta 1 bot described amateur radio as a highly regulated service <br /> committed to enhance goodwill; said he is especially interested <br /> in the long distance aspect. Talbot explained that interference <br /> has been virtually eliminated with the new transmitters; has had <br /> no complaints to date; note d tha t interference is n"ot caused by <br /> the tower. <br /> Talbot presen ted a lis t of 10 signatures of residents on Rolling <br /> Hills Road, Gramsie Road and Venus Avenue indicating they have no <br /> objection to the tower. <br /> (Crepeau le ft the meeting) <br /> Af te r discussion, Winge rt moved, seconded by Crichton, tha t <br /> Council approve the 2 foot side se tb ack variance fo r the tower, <br /> the approximate 10 foot height variance for towe.r in the down <br /> position and the total height variance when t owe r is in thl! ex- <br /> ten de d position. Motion carried un an imous ly, (4-0) . <br /> Case No. 80 - 10 , Lands cape Plan - Kinde rcare <br /> Miller repo rted tha t landscape plan for Kindercare has not been <br /> app rove d to date; requested Council clarification of modification <br /> of parking at front of building and the dumpster. <br /> . Council con cur re d that modified plan, Drawing B (P lanne r Report of <br /> 4-30-80). was the site plan approved; also concurred tha t it was <br /> Co un cil ' s unde rs tanding that the dumpster or trash re cep t ac le <br /> would be enclosed within the building. <br /> Grading of Hazelnut Park - Advertisment for Bids <br /> Miller re por ted tha t the Plans and Specs are re ady for advertize- <br /> men t fo r bids; reported no response to date from Rice Creek Water- <br /> shed Dis trict, but does not foresee that any grading problems will <br /> arise. <br /> -6- <br />
