Winge rt <br /> aeconded the motion and as ke d the ramificationa if not adopted. <br /> Concern was e xp re s se d relative to having the watershed <br /> . districts, conservation districts, s ch 001 district <br /> e tc. included in this kind of body, <br /> McNiesh noted that if Council does not act on the Resolution, it <br /> will be assumed that it has been disapproved. <br /> It was noted tha t the mixture of charte rs causes considerable <br /> cross-purposes wi th the original purpose of the Ie ague. wh i ch was <br /> to allow local governments to coordinate and cooperate amon gs t <br /> themse lves for legislation to aid municipalities; feels this mix- <br /> ture subve rts this purpose, <br /> Mo tion did not carry (Hanson voting in favor of the motion, Wingert, <br /> Crichton, Woodburn voting in opposition) . <br /> Re asons given for not adopting the Resolution were: <br /> 1. Mo tion carried unanimously (4-0) . , <br /> Metropolitan Transit Commission - Proposed Construction of <br /> Passenger Waiting Shelte rs, <br /> Counci I was referred to letter from MTC (9-11-80) and attached <br /> diagrams regarding proposed passenge r wai ting shel ters at County <br /> Rd. E2 and New Brighton Road and County Road F and Le xi n g t on Ave. <br /> . In discussion, it was fel t th at the shelter proposed at New <br /> Brighton Road and County Road E2 would be more appropriately sit- <br /> uated at Cha r les Pe rry Park than in front of someone's house. Res- <br /> ident on New Brighton Road concurred that he would pre fe r the park <br /> location rather than in front of his lot. <br /> Crichton moved, ""conded by Wingert. that Council convey to I"TC <br /> that Arden Hills is not interested in shelter installation at this <br /> time; at such time a passenger shelter is deemed appropriate at <br /> the New Brighton Road location, Council prefers that it be located <br /> at the park entrance, Motion carried unanimously (4-0) . <br /> -8- <br />
