Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Business f::~.!he Floor <br />None <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER <br /> <br />Case No. 8~-12, Building Permit - W.W. Grainger, Inc. <br />Miller referred Council to his report of 5-28-80 and Planning Commission <br />Minutes of 6-4-80; expleined that the applicant is requesting approval <br />of a Building Permit for a 32,162 square foot warehouse includin. approx- <br />imately 3,300 square feet of office space, for W.W. Crainger, Inc. <br /> <br />Miller noted that the proposed building meets all ordinance requirements; <br />noted thet number of parking spaces exceeds the number required; reported <br />that the Planning Commission recommends approval of the Building Permit <br />with se~er~l contingencie.. (Minutes of 6-4-80). <br /> <br />Glenn Ga~g~r, Gauger-Parrish, Inc., (architects) described the company <br />as a national ~halesale distributor of items such as electric motors, <br />controlB, fans, blowers, pumps, compressors, air conditio~ing and <br />refrigeration equipment, etc.; explained the propos~d facility in <br />Arden Hills is a relocation of the Minneapolis facility, which has <br />outgrown it. building and site i~ its pres.nt location. <br /> <br />Gauger explained that W.W. Grainger, Inc. has a purchase agreement <br />which is dependent upon apprDval of several things - one of which is <br />acceptance 0f their Building Permit application by the City. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Gauger advised that future expansion of the facility is anticipated, <br />and indicat',iI on the plan at 38,000 squ.are feet of land coverage; <br />noted that .pproval is not requested at this time of the expanded <br />developulent; understands that {Irdinance re'~ulations must be met at <br />the time ap',licad,'"" is made fc,r that Buil;:Iinll Pe:rmit. <br /> <br />Gauger expLlined th&t, based on the Plymou';h facility, it is anticipated <br />that there ~ill be about 3 semi-truck deli?eries to the site per week, <br />and 4 or 5 ,:ommon carrier pick ups per dey moving materia,.s out; noted <br />that these deliveries and pickupB are anti<:ipnted between the hours <br />of 2:00 and 4:30 p.m.; main access to the ~ite is at the north driveway. <br /> <br />Gauger refe"red Council t,~ Ellgin".er's lE,tt"r (5-1--80) indicating a <br />traffic con"ern relsti.ve to the location of the north driveway. Gauger <br />described Round Lake Foad West as a single access street; does not <br />see the norf:h drive.way &3 presenting a problem since W.W.
