Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Perry Park Warming House Repairs <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$8,000 $11,357.06 Park Maintenance <br />($3,357.06 over Budget) (101-45200-44010) <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />The replacement of Perry Park Warming House shingles and installation of a new <br />aluminum soffit and facia system. <br />Backaround/Discussion <br />The Perry Park Warming House is primarily used in the winter season for ice rink users. <br />Recently a leak in the roof was found and an inspection of the roofing, soffits, and facia was <br />completed. To prevent further damage, staff is recommending full replacement of the existing <br />shingles with an architectural shingle and wrap the soffits and facia with a no maintenance <br />aluminum product. This proactive approach is anticipated to have a 25-30 year useful life cycle. <br />The existing shingle roof was replaced in approx. 2006. <br />Budget Impact <br />There is $8,000 budgeted for Park repairs and maintenance. The actual amount exceeds the <br />budgeted amount by $3,357.06, but will be absorbed within other areas of the Park Maintenance <br />budget. <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Minnesota Roofing Co.
