<br />Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 7-29-91 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ACCEPI' RESIGNATIOO <br />& AUlHORIZE <br />ADVERI'ISEMENT <br /> <br />Council was referred to the resignation letter fram <br />Administrative Secretary Hillyer, date::l 7/26/91, to be <br />effective August 9. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger requeste::l pennission to begin an advertising campaign <br />to fill the position opening. <br /> <br />Malone lOOVed, seconded by GrcMe, to a=ept the <br />resignation letter fram Administrative Secretary Mary Arm Hillyer, effective <br />8/9/91, and auth=ize the Clerk Administrator to publish the standard <br />advertisement to fill the vacant position. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />SCHED. PERFORMANCE <br />EVALUATION; CLERK <br />ACMINISTRA'roR <br /> <br />CXXJNCIL ~ <br /> <br />KEI'IHSCN POND <br />DRAINAGE <br />PROBLEMS <br /> <br />CITIZEN <br />SURVEY <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council concurred to defer action on this matter to <br />the next regular meeting held August 12 and cIirected <br />staff to place this item on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Council1nember Malone discussed resolution of the Keithson <br />Pond drainage problems; noted staff is atteJrpting to <br />resolve as quickly as possible and is currently <br />negotiating an easement with an adjacent property owner. <br /> <br />Council1nember Malone questioned the payment of the <br />billing statement for the citizen survey conducted <br />by Decision Resources in 1990. <br /> <br />The Clerk Administrator advised the bill for services was received in 1991. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC <br />ACCIDENl'S; <br />HI\MLINE & CD. <br />ROAD F <br /> <br />RAMSEY CDUNI"{ <br />PROP'D CDLLECITOO <br />OF RECYCLING <br />cosrs <br /> <br />BASKETBALL HOOPS; <br />REM)VAL FRCM <br />aJIr-DE-SACS <br /> <br />Council1nember Malone questioned the comment relative <br />to recent traffic accidents at HaInline and County Road <br />F fram representatives at CPI; suggested staff check with <br />Ramsey County Sheriffs Department regarding this matter. <br /> <br />Council1nember Malone that he favors the Ramsey County <br />proposal f= collecting recycling costs from Arden Hills <br />residents with the tax statements and rei.Inh.1rsing the <br />City; the city must establish the rate. <br /> <br />Council1nember Malone referred to the request from the <br />Building Inspector for Council direction relating to <br />basketball hocps placed in city cul-de-sacs. <br /> <br />Council concurred to direct Kriesel to forward diplanatic corresporrlence to <br />residents with basketball hoops placed in the City easement, requesting removal <br />of the hoops pri= to snowfall, to allow for storage of snow on the easements and <br />to a=mmodate maintenance of utilities. <br /> <br />VALENI'INE AVENUE; <br />REM)VAL OF PIANI'INGS <br />IN RmAY FASEMENI'S <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council discussed the easement markings along Valentine <br />Avenue and possible solutions to increase sight distances <br />for traffic traveling on the roadway. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred to direct the Public Works SUperintendent to <br />contact the property owners and discuss trimming the foliage approximately 5 to 8 <br />ft. from the roadway to acccmnnodate public safety concerns. Council further <br />concurred to direct staff to trim back the vegetation along Old Highway 10. <br />
