Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 7-29-91 Page 7 CASE #91-09 The Planner referred to previous rezoning requests which were approved by the City, allowing the rezoning to occur only after the SUP and Site Plan were approved; cited Shannon Square on Lexington Avenue as an exanple and noted the applicants agreed to such stipulation. He indicated the city negotiates the developnent of such sites until the plan meets approval and then the rezoning becomes effective. . Co1.mcil1nember Mahowald agreed with this approach for negotiating quality development of this site. Planner Bergly stated Attorney Filla agreed with this approach f= the few remaining vacant parcels of land in the City. Malone 11DVed, seconded by Mahowald, to contingently approve the Rezoning from B-1 to B-2, Case #91-09, Cleveland Avenue and County Road E-2, Hans Hagen, pending Co1.mcil review and approval of a Special Use Pennit for a Service station/Convenience store/Car Wash at this location, and all related site plan materials, and the issuance of a b.Jilding permit f= development of this site, prior to the rezoning becoming effective, and Council further advises the applicant that such contingent approval of the rezoning does not imply that approval of the Special Use Pennit or issuance of a b.Jilding permit is guaranteed, with such approval to expire within one year. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) May= Sather acknowledged receipt of the report from Park Director John Buckley, dated 7/23/91, relating to the proposed Long Range Park F\md Plan. Council COI'lClllTed to discuss the proposal during the bldget worksession. Co1.mcil1nember Malone commented that the concept makes good sense and supported the proposal from Buckley. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Co1.mcil concurred on the following tentative dates f= further I:x.ldget discussions; September 5 and 12, at 4:30 p.m., and directed staff to place the . tentative dates on the August 26 Regular Co1.mcil Agenda for formal action.
