ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION — JUNE 9, 2025 22
Councilmember Monson said she thinks there was some concern about people handing out
information that appeared to be affiliated with the City but the were not actually a City funded
group.
Councilmember Rousseau is okay with getting rid of those two. In that example it was
established that the group was not using City logos.
Councilmember Holden said the Door -to -Door Group Affiliation and Door -to -Door
Solicitations can be removed.
Council agreed.
Councilmember Holden said Proclamation Policy can be removed. We have a rule that stated we
won't do anything except City proclamations.
Discussion ensued that this item doesn't seem to be an issue and it can be removed from the list.
Mayor Grant said he would have left it on but there is consensus to remove it.
Councilmember Holden thought the Building Material item was part of the Ryan or the HKGi
Zoning Update.
City Administrator Jagoe said those will be reviewed as part of the requirements for the B-2 and
B-3 Districts.
Council agreed to remove the item.
City Administrator Jagoe thinks the community survey discussion will come out of strategic
planning. There was a question on whether we wanted to do another community survey and what
it would look like. Is it a phone survey? Is it Survey Monkey? Is it residents or businesses or
both? What would the questions be?
Councilmember Holden said other cities do this but they use the same vendor every time so they
have an accurate picture from one survey to the next.
Councilmember Weber asked what the survey would be about.
Discussion ensued regarding community survey questions.
Councilmember Monson said over time it can be valuable but it can be very complex.
Councilmember Holden said it's very expensive, too.
Councilmember Rousseau is in favor of it.
Councilmember Weber doesn't see too much value in that. He understands there is long-term
value but it's a big undertaking.
