MINUI'ES OF THE ARDEN HILlS RmJL1\R cnUNCIL MEETING MONDAY, ~Y 11, 1991, 7:30 P.M. - CITY HALL Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting May= Malone called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. ROLL CALL 'Ihe roll being called the following members were present: Acting Mayor Paul Malone, Councilmembers Nancy Hansen, JoAnn Growe and Thomas Mahowald. Mayor Sather arrived at 7:35 p.m. Also present: Engineers Terry Maurer and Mark Graham, Park Director John Buckley, Public W=ks SUperintendent Dan Winkel, Accountant Tannny SWanson, Clerk Administrator Gary Berger and Deputy Clerk Catherine Iago. CALL 'IO ORDER AOOPl' AGENDA Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, to adopt the February 11 Agenda as suhnitted. Motion =ied unaninvusly. (4-0) Mayor Sather arrived at 7:35 p.m. APPROVE MINUI'ES; 1/28 & 1/30/91 Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to approve the January 28 Regular and January 30 Special Council meeting minutes as sul::rnitted. Motion =ied unanimously. (5-0) Clerk Administrator Berger introduced City A=untant Tannny (T.J.) SWanson to eouncilmembers and reviewed his 2/8/91 memorandum, outlining the proposed 1991-92 work program f= this position. INTRODUCE CITY ACCOUNTANT; TAMMY (T.J.) SWANSON Mayor Sather and Council1nembers wel=ned Tammy to the staff. DISC; 1991 RENEWAL CHARITABLE GAMBLING PREMISES PERMITS eouncil1nember Mahowald noted the three applications for renewal of premises pennits f= charitable gambling listed under the Consent Calendar. He questioned the number of pennits remaining f= issuance in 1991. Deputy Clerk Iago reported that two pennits for 1991 renewal were approved by Council and explained that if the three pennits listed under the Consent Calendar this evening are approved, four pennits remain available. She also noted that five organizations have not yet sul::rnitted applications for renewal in 1991. Iago explained the tenth pennit approved last fall as a "temporary pennit" will expire effective May 1, 1991. The Deputy Clerk advised that representatives from two of the organizations suhnitting applications this evening, Concordia singing s=iety and st. Paul Turners, are working with staff to CCllIply with the requirement to donate 50 percent of the net profits within the Arden Hills "trade area". She further advised that Con=rdia singing S=iety has volunteered to donate funds to the NWYSB. Iago stated that representatives of charitable organizations have expressed a willingness to donate funds to groups within the Arden Hills trade area; suggested communications be utilized to notify possible recipients to =ntact city Hall for further infornation on receipt of such funds. Council directed staff to review charitable gambling re=rds to insure all organizations applying for renewal are in CCllIpliance with Ordinance requirements pri= to suhnission of the application for premises pennit renewal.
