Mayor Sather arrived at 7:35 p.m. Also present: <br />Engineers Terry Maurer and Mark Graham, Park Director John Buckley, Public W=ks <br />SUperintendent Dan Winkel, Accountant Tannny SWanson, Clerk Administrator Gary <br />Berger and Deputy Clerk Catherine Iago. <br /> <br />CALL 'IO ORDER <br /> <br />AOOPl' AGENDA <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, to adopt the February 11 <br />Agenda as suhnitted. Motion =ied unaninvusly. (4-0) <br /> <br />Mayor Sather arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUI'ES; <br />1/28 & 1/30/91 <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to approve the January <br />28 Regular and January 30 Special Council meeting <br />minutes as sul::rnitted. Motion =ied unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger introduced City A=untant <br />Tannny (T.J.) SWanson to eouncilmembers and reviewed his <br />2/8/91 memorandum, outlining the proposed 1991-92 work <br />program f= this position. <br /> <br />INTRODUCE CITY <br />ACCOUNTANT; TAMMY <br />(T.J.) SWANSON <br /> <br />Mayor Sather and Council1nembers wel=ned Tammy to the staff. <br /> <br />DISC; 1991 RENEWAL <br />CHARITABLE GAMBLING <br />PREMISES PERMITS <br /> <br />eouncil1nember Mahowald noted the three applications for <br />renewal of premises pennits f= charitable gambling <br />listed under the Consent Calendar. He questioned the <br />number of pennits remaining f= issuance in 1991. <br /> <br />Deputy Clerk Iago reported that two pennits for 1991 renewal were approved by <br />Council and explained that if the three pennits listed under the Consent Calendar <br />this evening are approved, four pennits remain available. She also noted that <br />five organizations have not yet sul::rnitted applications for renewal in 1991. Iago <br />explained the tenth pennit approved last fall as a "temporary pennit" will expire <br />effective May 1, 1991. <br /> <br />The Deputy Clerk advised that representatives from two of the organizations <br />suhnitting applications this evening, Concordia singing s=iety and st. Paul <br />Turners, are working with staff to CCllIply with the requirement to donate 50 <br />percent of the net profits within the Arden Hills "trade area". She further <br />advised that Con=rdia singing S=iety has volunteered to donate funds to the <br />NWYSB. <br /> <br />Iago stated that representatives of charitable organizations have expressed a <br />willingness to donate funds to groups within the Arden Hills trade area; <br />suggested communications be utilized to notify possible recipients to =ntact <br />city Hall for further infornation on receipt of such funds. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to review charitable gambling re=rds to insure all <br />organizations applying for renewal are in CCllIpliance with Ordinance requirements <br />pri= to suhnission of the application for premises pennit renewal. <br />
