Resolution No. 91-11, Approving st. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church Premises <br />Pennit f= Bingo Operations at Pot 0 Gold Hall, 3776 Connelly Avenue. <br />b. Resolution No. 91-12, Approving Concordia Singing Society Premises Permit for <br />Bingo Operations at Pot 0 Gold Hall, 3776 Connelly Avenue. <br />c. Resolution No. 91-13, Approving st. Paul Tul:ners Premises Permit for Bingo <br />Operations at Pot 0 Gold Hall, 3776 Connelly Avenue. <br />d. Approve Solicitation Request from Victory Achievers. <br />e. Approve List of Claims and Payroll. <br /> <br />CONSENT <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />PUBLIC ~S <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />EXCESS LIABILITY Council was referred to a memoraIXlum from the Clerk <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE Administrator dated 2-8-91, and =espondence from lMCIT <br />Executive Director Peter Tritz dated 11/20 and 12/1/90, <br />regarding new excess liability coverage options offered to cities from the League <br />of Minnesota cities Insurance Trust. <br /> <br />city Insurance Agent Bill Hite reviewed the unusual events which are covered by <br />the excess liability insurance and the rationale outlined by the IMC f= choosing <br />to provide greater coverage than the statutory lilnits. He indicated that <br />approxlinately 50 percent of the cities are participating in the excess liability <br />coverage option. Hite also explained the waiver/nonwaiver of statutory liability <br />options and the cost differential of approxilllately $4,500.00. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger advised that the lMC designed the policy to fill the <br />gaps in coverage f= events outside the statutory lilnit coverage. He stated that <br />both Bill Hite and Peter Tritz have recommended the City approve the excess <br />liability insurance coverage and waive the $600,000 statutory lilnit. Berger <br />explained he con=s with the recarmnendation for approval and that funds are <br />hldgeted in 1991 for the coverage. <br /> <br />Bill Hite advised the city has an excellent record relative to past claims and <br />has received substantial dividends at the en:i of the year due to the low number <br />of claims. <br /> <br />council1nember Malone expressed concem that the city will by paying an additional <br />cost for events which are unlikely to occur. <br /> <br />Bill Hite explained all events listed in the current policy are also covered by <br />the excess liability insurance. <br /> <br />Mahowald lllOved, seconded by Growe, to continue with the <br />same liability insurance package for the city for 1991, which provides for excess <br />liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 and waive the $600,000.00 <br />statutory lilnit. Motion carried. (Mahowald, Growe, Hansen and Sather voting in <br />favor; Malone opposed) (4-1) <br />
