MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MEETING MONDAY, APRIL 20, 1992, 3:30 P.M. - CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Sather called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. ROLL CALL The roll being called the following members were present: Mayor Sather, Councilmember Dale Hicks, Paul Malone, JoAnn Growe and Thomas Mahowald. Also present: Public Works supervisor Dan winkel, Park Director John Buckley and Acting Clerk Administrator Catherine Iago. ADOPT AGENDA Mahowald moved, seconded by Malone, to adopt the Worksession Agenda as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) DISCUSSION OF STAFFING ISSUES . councilmembers and staff discussed options for staffing with the resignation of the Clerk Administrator and Accountant. Deputy Clerk Iago expressed an interest in applying for the position of Cle~k Administrator. Council concurred to extend the inter~m position of Acting Administrator to allow Iago time to consider application for the position. It was determined that Attorney Filla be requested to survey other communities regarding delegating more authority to the position of City Administrator. Council further directed staff to prepare justification for a part-time secretarial position and outline cost, number of hours and tasks to be assigned to the position. It was further determined that temporary accounting personnel be hired and assistance from Treasurer Frank Green be utilized for hiring this individual. REPORT ON ARCHITECT REFERENCES . Staff members Iago, Winkel and Buckley reported to Council on reference checks for the two architectural firms BWBR and BRWi both firms received excellent references from persons contacted.
